TITAN FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP 19 ON JULY 29 LIVE ON HDNET TO FEATURE NEW MAIN EVENT

Kansas City, KS, July 22, 2011 – Former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley has been pulled from his scheduled fight on July 29 at Titan Fighting Championship 19 (www.TitanFighting.com) due to personal reasons.

Lashley’s next fight for the promotion will now take place on August 26 vs. a yet-to-be-announced opponent.

“Unfortunately, with the things going on in Bobby’s life right now it was not the right time to have him fight,” said Titan CEO Joe Kelly. “Bobby will be the main event on the next Titan FC card on August 26, which will take place in Kansas City and feature other top fighters such as L.C. Davis, Brian Davidson, Eric Marriott and many more.”

With the withdrawal of Lashley comes a refurbished card for Titan FC 19 on Friday, July 29 at the historic Memorial Hall, to be televised live nationally on HDNet (www.HD.net) starting at 10 p.m. ET. The show will now feature two new main events.

Headlining the event will be James Krause, one of the best lightweight prospects in the U.S., taking on former King of the Cage champion and PRIDE veteran Clay French.

“The fight between Krause and French is one that will be action packed from the very start. These two guys are studs and the winner of this fight will find themselves on the top of everyone’s radar,” said Kelly.

The night’s other main event will feature former Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann (2-0) facing Kansas City native Tony Evinger (7-4) in a highly-anticipated female MMA contest. McMann became the first American woman in history to earn a silver medal in freestyle wrestling when she took second place at the Olympic games of 2004.

“Sara is an amazing talent and an American hero; I am very excited to add a fighter like her to the Titan roster. I feel that when it is all said and done Sara could be considered the best female fighter of all time.” Kelly stated.

In Evinger, McMann will find herself across the cage across from a fighter who can also make the claim of being a standout amateur wrestler. An All-State competitor while in High School, Evinger was so accomplished that she was able to wrestle on the boy’s team.

Despite the move from female competitors to male competition, Evinger remained dominant. She utilized her wrestling ability to catapult herself into a successful MMA career that afforded her an opportunity to fight Gina Carano on national television.

Fans in attendance at Memorial Hall or watching live on HDNet on July 19 will also be treated to a deep undercard that will feature UFC veteran Rob “The Rosedale Reaper” Kimmons (22-7) taking on WEC veteran Brendan Seguin (22-16-1).

Kimmons is widely considered the most accomplished mixed martial artist to come from Kansas City. KC fight fans are also familiar with Seguin, as he has made several appearances at Memorial Hall in the past and is best known for his upset victory over current Strikeforce fighter Bobby Voelker in April of 2010. Seguin will look to once again defeat one of Kansas City’s best in their own hometown.

Tickets for “HDNet Presents: Titan Fighting Championship 19” start at just $35 and are currently on-sale at Ticketmaster.com, all local Ticketmaster outlets, as well as the Memorial Hall box office. For more information on Titan FC 19, please visit www.TitanFighting.com; “like” Titan Fighting on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/TitanFighting); or follow Titan on Twitter @TitanFighting.

The current card for Titan Fighting Championship 19 is as follows:

- “The” James Krause (12-3) vs. Clay French (17-6) at 160 lbs.
- Sara McMann (2-0) vs. Tonya Evinger (7-4) at 140 lbs.
- Rob “The Rosedale Reaper” Kimmons (22-7) vs. Brendan Seguin (22-16-1) at 185 lbs.
- Joe “The Nose” Wilk (12-5) vs. Willian DeSouza (3-3) at 145 lbs.
- Nick Nolte (3-3) vs. Marcio Navarro (8-5) at 170 lbs.
- Daniel Gallemore (0-0) vs. Alex Huddelston (0-0) at 265 lbs.
- Anthony “Sharkbait” Gutierrez (2-0) vs. Cody Land (4-0) at 135 lbs.

Butterbean Trades His Boxing Gloves For A Sheriff's Badge In Investigation Discovery's First Docu-Series, BIG LAW: DEPUTY BUTTERBEAN

SILVER SPRING, Md., July 18, 2011 -- Former heavyweight boxer Eric Esch, more popularly known as Butterbean, barreled into the national ring in the '90s like a 400-pound wrecking ball clad in American flag shorts. Now, Butterbean is taking his hard-earned, tough guy reputation to the streets of his hometown: he's been deputized by the Walker County Sheriff's office, and he's on a one-man mission to bring back a sense of community safety... no matter how many butts he has to kick. In his first-ever television series, BIG LAW: DEPUTY BUTTERBEAN chronicles the Reserve Deputy as he joins his partner and best friend, Deputy Adam Hadder, on the Sheriff's Narcotics Unit in Jasper, Ala. Viewers follow the oversized deputy and get insider access to every training session, patrol ride and bad guy bust that Butterbean experiences, all in the hopes of making Jasper a safer and cleaner place for his kids and grandkids. Join Butterbean as he brings big-time justice to a small town in BIG LAW: DEPUTY BUTTERBEAN, with half-hour episodes premiering back to back every Tuesday beginning August 9 at 10 and 10:30 PM (ET) on Investigation Discovery.

"As the fastest growing network in all of cable, it's imperative that we continue to pursue different genres of programming, so I'm particularly proud to announce that BIG LAW: DEPUTY BUTTERBEAN will be Investigation Discovery's first foray into docu-series," said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager, Investigation Discovery. "Our cameras capture every moment of Butterbean in action and, although this deputy would be a little intimidating if he's the one knocking on your door, I think our viewers will find that he's just a big guy with an even bigger heart trying to make a difference in his community."

In the premiere episode, Deputies Butterbean and Hadder close in on a suspected meth lab but are rattled with disappointment when they discover it abandoned. Their luck turns when they catch a female suspect illegally buying pseudoephedrine for her boyfriend, a suspected meth maker. Butterbean's compassionate nature allows the young mother to open up to him, eventually leading police to their suspect. Then, to carry a Taser you need to be Taser certified – which requires getting shocked yourself. Butterbean has taken some tough blows in the ring, but will 50,000 volts be the force that finally knocks him down?

The ten-part series will culminate with a special episode chronicling the torrent of tornadoes that ripped through Alabama in April 2011. While Jasper itself remained relatively unscathed, neighboring suburbs of Birmingham were devastated. The episode follows Deputies Butterbean and Hadder as they conduct search-and-rescue and aid missions alongside their fellow Walker County police force.

ABOUT BUTTERBEAN:

Weighing in at over 400 pounds, boxer Eric "Butterbean" Esch is the former super heavyweight champion famous for his staple uniform of American flag shorts fastened around his round belly. Butterbean entered the world of professional fighting in 1994 with numerous World Toughman titles to his credit. After a successful stint in boxing (fight record stands at 95 wins with 65 knockouts, 19 losses and 5 draws), he transformed himself into a fan favorite of WWF and even ventured into Mixed Martial Arts, where he currently holds the 2011 Elite MMA Super Heavyweight Title. His success has earned him a cult following and made him a fixture in pop culture with his role in Jackass: The Movie, in which he knocked Johnnie Knoxville out cold. Butterbean also appeared as a playable character in all of the EA Sports boxing video games in the Knockout Kings series. He currently works as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Walker County and resides in Jasper, Ala. with his wife and three kids.

UFC Events Expected To Bring Significant Economic Boost To Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, Pa., June 22, 2011 -- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission has landed two major Ultimate Fighting Championship events that are expected to generate millions of dollars in economic benefits for the state and local economies.

The UFC events set for June 26 in Pittsburgh's Consol Energy Center and Aug. 6 in Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center could generate between $6 million and $8 million in total economic activity, based on a study of similar events in New York.

Harrisburg native and Penn State All-American wrestler Phil Davis will headline the Philadelphia event, while Hollidaysburg native Charlie Brenneman will be showcased in Pittsburgh.

"With both events featuring Pennsylvania fighters, we project total ticket sales for the two days of about 19,000," said Greg Sirb, executive director of the State Athletic Commission, which oversees boxing, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling in Pennsylvania. The commission is part of the Department of State.

Sirb has promoted Pennsylvania for UFC events since the sport was legalized here in 2009. He believes Pennsylvania is the first state other than Nevada to attract two UFC events in the same summer. If these dates are successful, Sirb said he hoped more UFC bouts and their overnight visitors will come to Pennsylvania in the future.

"Hotels, restaurants, bars, and other service businesses near the arenas will see large increases in business," Sirb said. Estimated ticket sales of 12,000 would be expected to generate between $4 million and $5 million for Philadelphia's economy; 7,000 attendees would mean between $2 million and $3 million for Pittsburgh.

The State Athletic Commission receives no state general fund tax money and is totally self-supportive through a 5 percent tax on gate receipts of sanctioned events and various license fees. Over the past 10 years, the commission has returned more than $1.5 million to the state's general fund. Money from the UFC events will help insure proper oversight for all sports the commission oversees, including amateur boxing, in which many young athletes compete.

World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. Sued For $5 Million

Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C. recently accepted a settlement offer of $5 million after 4 weeks of trial on behalf of a client who was injured in a low impact motor vehicle accident in downtown Manhattan. The client suffered a knee injury which resulted in surgical procedures and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

New York, NY, June 12, 2011 -- Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C., a leader among personal injury and medical malpractice firms in the New York area, recently settled a case (Index No 13451/08 - Kimberly Benson v. World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. and Matthew T. Yackeren) for $5 million involving a knee injury caused by a low-speed, low-impact motor vehicle accident.

According to court documents, On November 2, 2007, Kimberly Benson’s car was struck in a sideswipe collision by a vehicle operated by Matthew Yackeren, an employee of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment. As a result of the low impact motor vehicle accident that occurred at a low rate of speed, Ms. Benson suffered a knee injury.

According to the case, Yackeren was driving a commercial van in the financial district of downtown Manhattan. While attempting to pass traffic, he backed up and then struck Ms. Benson’s jeep in the back driver side bumper with the side of his van. Damage to both vehicles was minimal.

Court documents show that Ms. Benson, a 41 year old mother and phlebotomy manager with a pre-existing knee injury, suffered a fracture of the cartilage in her knee and underwent several surgical procedures. In addition to the pain, degeneration of soft tissue and difficulty ambulating, Benson also developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) aka Reflex Symptomatic Dystrophy (RSD), a debilitating chronic pain condition which rendered her disabled and incapable of working.

Benson sued World Wrestling Federation Entertainment and their driver, Matthew Yackeren, for past and future medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. The case (Index No 13451/08) went to trial, and the defense argued causation - the low impact accident that occurred at such a low rate of speed could not have caused an
injury.

After four weeks of trial, both parties settled the case. Benson recovered $5 million from World Wrestling Federation Entertainment and Matthew Yackeren. Andrew L. Libo, the attorney for Benson from Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C., was satisfied with the result. “Kimberly’s life and the life of her daughter will never be the same, due to this accident. We refused to settle this case before trial because we knew Kimberly deserved justice, and we were willing to fight as long as needed to ensure she was justly compensated.” The trial was conducted by Jeff S. Korek and Nicolas Bagley.

Source: Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C.

Notes from Ric: WTF is "World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc."? Maybe it's just me, but if I just received five-million-dollars from someone, I'd sure as fuck remember who it was ... Oh, and I call "bullshit." Even if this happened, and this team of "professionals" somehow managed to mistakenly get WWE's name wrong, what would possess them to issue a press release basically admitting their suit was a scam but the defendants decided it was easier to settle out of court (and, better yet, for how much)?

On Sunday Night, WWE Tough Enough Star, Jeremiah Riggs joined Wrestle Talk Radio(www.wildtalkradio.com) to talk about his elimination from the show and the cast, along with a wide range of topics which included:

His thoughts on his "defining moment" on Tough Enough when losing his teeth during the first week of his show: "There are people out there who forget that I could do that. My little boy gets a kick out of it, like its a magic trick. I wasn't embarrassed by it, in the back of my mind, I wanted to fall out laughing, as they are fixing to hype my ass up on this one, I just thought it was as funny as anyone else."

His thoughts on "Uncle Bill": "He wanted to give everyone else a nickname, so I gave him the nickname "Uncle Bill". He's like a drill Sergeant, he's old school, but he understand how the new age of how things are down and understands the new level of athletes, but he sticks to the old school mentality and it worked for us, as it weeds the boys out from the men."

His thoughts on coming in shape: "There was nothing I felt uncomfortable doing, there is was nothing I didn't come in shape to do, it just spoils the moment when people come there and didn't come in shape to do it and couldn't finish anything."

His thoughts on whether he he had the respect of the trainers coming in: "At first I believe there might have been a lack of respect seeing as came from mixed martial arts, I believe at the beginning there was a lack of respect and I get it. After showing my confidence, it turned them around, it showed that I meant business and was for real."

Other topics include the differences between MMA & Pro Wrestling, the history of MMA Stars in Pro Wrestling, being trained by Dutch Mantel, his appearances on other reality shows, what he would tell Vince McMahon in a One on One Meeting and much more! NICK DIAZ WILL CONTINUE MIXED MARTIAL ARTS CAREER

DON CHARGIN PRODUCTIONS

Northern California, May 23, 2011 - Mixed Martial Arts Champion, Nick Diaz will continue pursuing his Mixed Martial Arts career instead of professional boxing as it has been deemed that it be in Nick's best interest to focus on his primary combat sport and profession.

Team Diaz had contemplated transitioning over to the boxing world in a legitimate attempt to pursue a high-level boxing career. These discussions began in 2009 with long-time boxing promoter, Don Chargin and proceeded up until recent times.

Never before in the history of both sports had a pound-for-pound MMA combatant in his prime had the desire or been contractually free to attempt to transition over to boxing.

The landscape of Mixed-Martial Arts moves at a rapid pace and while Diaz's chance to make history, becoming the first true cross-over MMA star to enter the boxing ring, an opportunity arose for Nick to make a different sort of history in his primary field of fighting.

Don Chargin states, "Nick is a good kid and a very exciting fighter. Right now he has an opportunity of a lifetime as it pertains to his MMA career. While I don't doubt that Nick and his team were serious about taking the big step into boxing, it only makes sense for him to finish what he started and see how far he can go in MMA before he does anything in boxing. It's all about timing... we began these discussions over two years ago and nobody would have imagined the type of demand that there currently is for Nick as a mixed martial artist."

Cesar Gracie (Nick's manager) states, "There are some people that have said we were just posturing to go into professional boxing and they don't understand that this thing is something we had been working on since 2009. It wasn't just out of nowhere but at this point in time, there's a certain chance that comes along once in a very long while and it only makes sense to stick to MMA as of right now. Nick's been working really hard to get to this point in his MMA career and it wouldn't make sense for us to make that transition into boxing right now. If this were a couple months ago or if certain fights had played out differently, we'd definitely be ready to go into boxing, but that's not how it played out. Don Chargin is a great boxing promoter and he understood our dilemma completely and I thank him for that."

While the intrigue for the proposed Nick Diaz-Jeff Lacy bout had drawn a massive amount of media interest in its rumored status, this type of cross-over match-up will have to take place at a later date.

Diaz's MMA career will undoubtedly have some major changes within a short while as he's ready to transition into the next phase of his fighting career.

Don Chargin continued, "I've had a long promotional career filled with numerous big events dating back the 1960s. Taking Nick Diaz into boxing would have undoubtedly been a big one but this is Nick's career and his legacy as a MMA fighter needs to be solidified now. I wish him all the luck going forward and know that Zuffa will have itself one very exciting fighter for many years to come."

TORONTO - May 9, 2011 – Moneris Solutions, Canada’s largest credit and debit card processor, today released data confirming the positive economic impact of the first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event in Toronto. The Moneris Spending Report showed a substantial increase in dollars spent on Saturday, April 30, the day of this much-anticipated event.

Restaurants in Toronto realized one of the largest increases, with 19.2 per cent jump in dollars spent compared week-over-week. Similarly, bars and pubs experienced 15.7 per cent increase as fans were abuzz with excitement. These results confirm that in addition to the estimated 55,000 people at the Rogers Centre, many more watched this popular event outside their home.

The Moneris Spending Report also showed a sizable increase in other categories. The influx of people making their way to downtown core brought much-welcomed increase in retail spending. Apparel and sporting goods stores saw 41.3 per cent and 33 per cent increase in dollars spent, respectively.

In addition, many travelled to Toronto to experience the event in person, as evidenced by the 20.3 per cent increase in dollars spent at hotels. The focus was however truly on the UFC event – the entertainment category, which includes cinemas and theatre saw a decline of -0.8 per cent.

“UFC brought a knockout result to Toronto. Special events bring an injection of excitement to cities, and result in a win for businesses of all sizes,” said Santo Ligotti, Vice President, Marketing, Moneris Solutions. Events, such as St. Patrick’s Day, were a great success this year, generating 21.22 per cent and 10.95 per cent growth for restaurants and drinking places, compared to 2010. On St. Patrick’s Day, spending was up 65.82 per cent at drinking places, compared to the previous week.

Jeff Lacy Signs To Fight MMA Champion Nick Diaz

May 6, 2011 - The hottest fighter in the mixed martial arts landscape right now is Stocktons own, Nick Diaz. He is currently riding an 11-fight win streak and has been mentioned as a potential super-fight candidate to face-off against UFC welterweight champion George St. Pierre at the end of 2011.

Due to the structuring of Diaz's contract with MMA outfit, Strikeforce, he is in a unique position where he can contractually pursue a professional boxing career in addition to his mixed-martial arts title reign.

While rumors of opponents such as former champions Fernando Vargas and Roy Jones Jr. have been floated around, neither mans team have yet solidified a contract with the young champion.

A few moments ago, former IBF super-middleweight champion & devastating knockout artist, Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy, officially signed on the dotted line to square off against Diaz in the Fall of 2011.

Lacy possesses the type of dangerous punching power in both hands that can end the double digit win streak of the rugged Northern California champion.

Don Chargin states, "This is a very dangerous fight for both men. Not only is this fight dangerous but stylistically it is very intriguing. I expected more resistance from fight fans and media in regards to this match-up but its amazing as to the hundreds of calls and e-mails I've received from fans on both sides wanting to see this match-up take place. I've received more than a few inquiries from some other very high-profile boxers that want to step up and fight Nick. Its been a real whirlwind."

Chargin continues, "I've been around boxing for quite some time and I've seen a lot of great, tough fighters in my six decades within the sport. I believe that if Nick had been one of those kids who had picked up boxing from a youth, he'd undoubtedly be a world-champion today. Sometime within the next 2 weeks I'll be personally making the trek to Cesar Gracies gym to setup a private, closed door sparring session between Nick and a few nameless top-level contenders I have in mind."

Can Jeff Lacy refocus his career to regain the once promising glory that lingered at his fingertips just a few short years back?

Can Nick Diaz's granite chin withstand the devastating punching power of arguably the hardest punching 168-pound fighter on the planet?

These questions will definitely be answered before the end of 2011 as the fight titled, "Breaking History" is fairly self-explanatory.
