TORONTO, Dec. 12 - "Big" John McCarthy, who officially joined The Fight Network December 7th in a full-time role, will make his broadcasting debut on December 14th in Montreal, Quebec. McCarthy will team up with his Fight Network colleague, Mauro Ranallo, to call the English broadcast for TKO 31 "Young Guns" from the Bell Centre.

One of the world's best known mixed martial arts personalities, and arguably the most knowledgeable man in the sport, McCarthy will provide colour commentary for the event and is guaranteed to deliver a new "inside" perspective to the growing number of MMA fans.

"I can't wait to hear their first call together in Montreal," said Mike Garrow, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, Strategy, The Fight Network. "Play by play is so important in the fight game, and to team up Mauro Ranallo and Big John McCarthy to call the action is going to be awesome for MMA fans who value and appreciate knowledgeable, experienced and credible commentators."

A charismatic giant of the game, and a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu himself, McCarthy is the most highly regarded authority and a recognized historian on MMA. One of the original authors of the rules that govern MMA in the United States, his expertise and passionate advocacy of the sport has been instrumental in the legalization of MMA and the passage of MMA regulations in many states.

TKO 31 "Young Guns" airs on Pay Per View January 4, 2008 at 9:00 pm.
