Florida Championship Wrestling held their December 11, 2007 event at Bourbon St Night Club, 4331 US 19N in New Port Richey with several WWE dignitaries in attendance including WWE HOF member Afa Sr, plus surprise guests Luna Vachon and current Monday Night Raw Superstars John Cena and Beth Phoenix.

Bryan Kelly opened the evening in the ring to express his gratitude to the fans of FCW for allowing him to perform in front of them each and every week. He also wished to thank Afa Jr. for the beating he received last week at the hands of the former FCW Southern Heavyweight champion. Doctors have told Kelly he has a muscle strain in his neck that will keep him out of action for a while. He felt that was a wake up call. He showed off a contract for a match with Afa Jr. for a match down the road.

(1) Jake Hager defeated Chris Gray.

Gray tried to mat wrestle with the former Sooner wrestling star and didn’t fair too well. So he altered his attack speed including a crucifix for two. But Hager’s size advantage allowed him to toss Gray into the bottom of the turnbuckles and the post, doing damage to the left shoulder. Hager decided to attack with an abdominal stretch which Gray escaped into a two count. Gray went for a corner move and saw Hager move, ducking out of the way and hitting a forearm followed by a standing shooting star press for two. But Hager got to his feet and hit a Tilt-A-Whirl slam for two and went back to the abdominal stretch, going for the submission. But Gray powered out with a hip toss and a dropkick to the face as Hager struggled to his feet. Gray hit an enziguri setting Hager up for a top rope moonsault that only hit canvas as Hager was on his feet. But Gray countered a power bomb into a huricurana for two. However he was unable to avoid a modified side slam that got Hager the win.

(2) Sheamus defeated Kevin Kiley.

Sheamus tried to intimidate the rookie Kiley instead he got hit with a backslide for one and ended up on the mat in an armbar. Sheamus got ot his feet but Kiley wouldn’t let go of the arm. Kiley let go when Sheamus hit a corner splash but his second one met the turnbuckles and Kiley went back to the arm. Sheamus felt he needed to go outside so he tossed Kiley to the floor and drove his back into the ring apron. Back in the ring Sheamus kept the focus on the back with a stretch submission but Kiley powered to his feet only to be hit with a clothesline for two. Sheamus’ backdrop was telegraphed and Kiley got a sunset flip for two but Kiley ended up on the mat again from a bodyshot. Sheamus went for a Camel Clutch but that too was countered by Kiley who hit a second rope bodyblock but couldn’t make the cover. Kiley was first to the punch and kept Sheamus on the defensive until Sheamus hit an STO for two. Sheamus was ready for hit battle axe shot but Kiley ducked and got a roll up for two but Sheamus won with a sitout chokeslam.

(3) “Carnival Freak” Sinn Bowdee defeated Tommy Taylor.

This was a contrast in style with the mat based Taylor and well…the “Carnival Freak” not really having a style. Bowdee took Taylor down in a test of strength that got two but couldn’t get three even using leverage. But it was used against him and Taylor ended up on top of the hold into a straight jacket hold. Bowdee got to his feet trying to free himself and reversing the hold. But Taylor countered out only to have Bowdee counter a hold but Bowdee missed an elbow which allowed Taylor to get an armlock. Taylor’s kick to the chest was blocked by Bowdee but Bowdee ended up raking Taylor’s eyes which got him a warning from the official. Taylor fought back with an attempted head scissor but Bowdee blocked it and dropped Taylor on the mat for two. Bowdee hit an inverted bodyslam before going up top but Taylor was ready and brought Bowdee off with a slam but Bowdee shifted his weight and he landed on Taylor for two. Both men fought over a backslide which Taylor countered into a pin attempt but Bowdee countered into an Indian Deathlock which Taylor could not escape from.

(4) Johnny Curtis & Derick Linkin (w/The Bella Twins, Nicole & Brianna) defeated Ichiban & Mr. Yamamoto.

After last week’s handicap bout Linkin decided he wanted a rematch, so he got Curtis to join his cause against the Japanese. Before the bout Yamamoto used some ceremonial salt to bless the ring, which brought back memories of the former World champion Yokozuna. Linkin began the match with Yamamoto on the mat but it became hard hitting with chest chops and forearms when the partners tagged in. Curtis and Linkin worked well as a team until Yamamoto used his katana sword, driving the end into Curtis’ ribs. Ichiban and Yamamoto took turns attacking the ribs with a variety of submission holds but nothing got the win. Linkin and the Twins shouted encouragement and it worked as Curtis avoided a double team move and tagged in Linkin. All four men fought in and out of the ring with Yamamoto and Linkin staying inside to win with what looked like an RKO.

(5) “Super Fan” Chet Douglas defeated Doink the Clown.

Straight from his appearance from Monday night Raw, Doink signed a paper for Douglas before the match. Doink showed off his tricks like the magic mirror and the YMCA which Douglas took part in. Finally they locked up, well sort of as they played shadow games with each other. Both men got in a bodyslam but Douglas got the first pin attempt which sent Doink to the floor to rethink his approach. Actually he went under the ring and Douglas went looking for him, only to get bit in the tushie. But Douglas gave him one back and even the referee got bit but decided not to DQ either man. A hip tossing contest broke out but the match was interrupted by the 7FT Giant Titan who wanted the shenanigans to cease. After a exchange of words Titan dropped Doink on the top rope. Douglas had no choice but to pin Doink and get the win.

“Handsome” Heath Miller returned from vacation to host his “vastly popular” Happy Hour segment. His guest tonight was “Rapid” Robert Anthony who Miller called Rupert Robinson. The two men didn’t exactly make plans for Christmas; Miller said Anthony was on a downward spiral in recent weeks. After being called a loser Anthony retorted calling Miller’s matches a joke and he felt someone should knock out Miller. They were interrupted by “Bad Seed” Shawn Osborne who Miller said knew greatness and it wasn’t Anthony. Osborne said Anthony had entered the “Bad Seed Zone” and all entrants got a complimentary punch to the face. They were interrupted again by G-Rilla who decided to join the show. Actually they were all interrupted by the Champ John Cena who told the four men he got a phone call from Vince McMahon who told them to stop talking and have a tag team match right now!!

(6) “Handsome” Heath Miller & “Bad Seed” Shawn Osborne defeated Robert Anthony & “the Rocket Scientist” G-Rilla.

Anthony and G-Rilla were on the same page which was shutting up Miller by on the mat in submission holds. Osborne tried to help his partner but he too ended up in an armbar. But G-Rilla didn’t see a blind tag and Osborne hit a top rope smash to the big man’s back. Miller and Osborne made several tags keeping G-Rilla isolated from Anthony for what seemed like an hour. But G-Rilla refused to be pinned or give up and was able to fight off both men and tag in Anthony who was ready to fight. Anthony sent Miller to the floor with a dropkick but his suplex back in the ring was cut off by Osborne who tripped him up. The referee counted the pin not seeing Osborne holding Anthony’s feet from the floor.

(7) “The Natural” Nick Nemeth (w/Big Rob) and Rycklon fought to a no contest.

The raising of the divorce rate was interrupted by Rycklon who chased Nemeth into the arms of bodyguard. Nemeth came into the ring only to be hit with a chest chop that echoed throughout the building. But Big Rob saved his man from a corner spear and Rycklon’s shoulder met the ring post. Rycklon fought to his feet out of an armbar hitting a clothesline with his good arm. But as Big Rob distracted the referee Nemeth choked Rycklon with some wrist tape. The referee got knocked down as Rycklon got control of the tape and avoided a double team move. The referee got shoved to the mat by both men and he called for the bell.

(8) FCW Southern Heavyweight champion “Stampede Kid” TJ Wilson, Steve Lewington & Billy Kidman defeated Afa Jr., Ted DiBiase Jr. & Hade Vansen.

The current and former champion started but Hansen said he wanted the champ so Afa obliged. Vansen and Wilson traded mat wrestling moves with Wilson getting an armbar which allowed Lewington a chance to tag in to face his fellow Brit. But DiBiase was able to tag in only to be in the ring with Kidman who took DiBiase down with a dropkick. Lewington came in and used his power to torture DiBiase’s left arm and shoulder but he got maneuvered into a corner where Vansen and Afa double teamed him. At certain points it actually turned into a triple team as the referee kept going over to keep Kidman and Wilson on the apron. Kidman was able to tag in and clear the ring of people and actually follow DiBiase to the floor. But Kidman got attacked from behind and ended up on the defensive as his partners were stopped from interfering by the referee. DiBiase nearly got the win with a clothesline that flipped Kidman over and out. Vansen tagged in and locked in a chinlock but Kidman fought to his feet but got caught with a running knee to the corner and a clothesline for two. Afa finally joined the action with Kidman nearly out of it. Afa thought he had the win with a second rope headbutt but he only got two. Kidman hit a DDT but it had no effect on the Samoan but a dropkick to the chin did and the race was on for the tag. Wilson and DiBiase tagged in and Wilson hit a Saito suplex for two as DiBiase fought back. Wilson hit a slingshot blockbuster for two but all six men got in the ring and fought. Wilson was nearly pinned by DiBiase as the other four fought on the floor. As this went on Wilson and DiBiase traded two count pins but Wilson was able to use a double leg to get the pinfall for his team.
