Las Vegas, Nev. (USA) – The Ultimate Fighting Championship® organization has launched the official site for UFC 79: NEMESIS taking place live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center, Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007. UFC 79: NEMESIS features Matt Hughes battling Georges St-Pierre for the interim UFC® Welterweight Championship in the main event and the historic dream match up between two legendary figures in the sport of mixed martial arts, UFC and PRIDE® former champions Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and “The Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva.

The fireworks begin on the UFC 79 site located at (http://79.ufc.com). The site is a fully interactive, multi-dimensional online UFC experience. When visitors log on, they are taken to a video preview of UFC 79. The main page features links to breakdowns of Liddell vs. Silva and Hughes vs. St-Pierre rivalries. The Liddell vs. Silva page features three fighters both have fought in the past including Tito Ortiz, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and Vitor Belfort with video clips of their fights with each of them. A match up chart displays the wins and losses Liddell and Silva had with the three fighters allowing visitors to make their own conclusions for the outcome of this fierce match up.

Also, featured on the UFC 79 site is a breakdown with video clips of Hughes and St-Pierre’s two meetings in the Octagon™, as well as video clips from St-Pierre’s loss to UFC Welterweight champion Matt Serra. In addition to the in depth look into these two bouts, the site includes profiles of the other bouts on the UFC 79 card including the light heavyweight match-up of Sokoudijou as he steps into the Octagon for the first time for a light heavyweight war with Lyoto Machida.
