WWE(R) Championship and World Heavyweight Titles On The Line Live on Pay-Per-View

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 - The boxing world was shocked yesterday at a press conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles when Floyd Mayweather confirmed a proposed match with the 7 foot 399 lb Big Show(R). The world's greatest fighter and one of today's greatest pay-per-view draws in boxing agreed to wrestle in a World Wrestling Entertainment(R) match at WrestleMania XXIV live on pay-per-view on Sunday, March 30 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. In addition to Mayweather's stunning announcement, the main event matches were confirmed for WrestleMania XXIV including a Triple Threat Match featuring Triple H(R), John Cena(R) and WWE Champion Randy Orton(R) for the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Champion Edge(R) defending his title against Undertaker(R).

The Mayweather-Big Show confrontation began with Big Show's surprise arrival at No Way Out(R) on February 17 in Las Vegas. Mayweather, as Rey Mysterio(R)'s guest, showed why he is considered the greatest fighter in the world by landing a lightening fast combination of punches on the Big Show in defense of Mysterio. The next evening at RAW(R), Big Show provoked the WBC Welterweight Champion Floyd Mayweather into accepting a future one-on-one match. After hearing Big Show's antics from inside the ring, Mayweather stormed back into the ring to accept his challenge.

The Triple Threat Match featuring Triple H, John Cena and WWE Champion Randy Orton has been brewing for years and picked up when Cena made a surprise return from injury at Royal Rumble(R) in January. These elite Superstars are no strangers to one another. Their careers have intertwined in pursuit of the WWE Championship. Will the Florida Citrus Bowl be able to contain the explosion at WrestleMania XXIV live on pay-per-view?

The World Heavyweight title match between the champion Edge and Undertaker is about two things - championship gold and streaks. Undertaker's impressive 15-0 undefeated streak at WrestleMania casts an ominous and intimidating shadow over Edge and his title reign. However, Edge bears an impressive record himself at WrestleMania (5-1) at which he has never been pinned or forced to submit. One streak will have to end at WrestleMania XXIV live on pay-per-view on Sunday, March 30.
