The current listing of promoters licensed to operate professional wrestling events as of this writing in Georgia can be found here. It should be noted that not all of the unlicensed promotions are heavily active at this point, and in fact, some may no longer be active at all. However, there are plenty that are running at least monthly, and are running the risk of being shut down simply for not being licensed. Of the larger companies, World Wrestling Entertainment is exempt from licensure at this time. Total Nonstop Action is not exempt, but has no events scheduled in the state as of this writing. NAWA Ring Champions results from the Purks Building in Cedartown, GA, on May 3: Bobby Hayes over Rick Michaels; Terry Lawler over the Patriot; Murder One (w/ Jackie Rosedale) over Lamar Phillips; Chris Ganz over Chris Lightning and Jamie Hall in a three-way to retain the NAWA Cruiserweight Title; HardCore Productions (Billy Love & Josh Hate) over Terry Lawler & Bulldog Raines in a two-of-three falls match; and Peggy Lee Leather (w/ Nigel Sherrod) over Bambi to win the NAWA Women’s Title. Crowe beat Justin Spade, ATL Jr. Champion Steven Green beat Intern and Lee Cross in a 3-way when Green pinned Intern, Tim Renesto (with Charming Charles) over Bushranger Kelly, USWO Jr. Champion Damien Payne versus LT Falk went to a 15:00 draw, USWO Champion Chris Michaels b Seven (with Charming Charles), Quinton Quarisma & Jay Phoenix b New York Gangster & Michael Jablonski in a no-DQ match to win the USWO Tag Team Championship when Phoenix pinned Gangster. The US Tag Team Title had been held up by Commissioner Howard Haire on April 27, 1962, following a match between champions the Assassins and Ray Gunkel & Bob Ellis. This was a rematch to determine the champions. Eddie Graham had been the reigning Southern Heavyweight Champion as recognized by the Tampa, FL, office since he won a tournament on March 17, 1962, in Tampa. It was announced that Freddie Blassie would be wrestling on the card on June 29, 1962, and that Chief Little Eagle would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.
