NOTES

Courtesy of Henry Hutcheson, we have been informed that a “writ of possession/eviction” has been posted on the door of the arena in Columbus, GA, in which the Independent Wrestling Network was running events in recent months. According to the “final notice,” it was noted that a plan of eviction was planned, as ordered by the Municipal Court of Columbus, and was addressing Larry (Dwayne) Bell, Phillip Carter, and Christopher Crosby. This is the same venue which had once been used by Great Championship Wrestling before their move to Phenix City, AL. (Rich Tate)

In other IWN news, a posting on Craig’s List dated June 19, has the IWN looking for a “booker/financial backer.” The clearly fictitious posting says, “Our well has run dry due to poor judgment and horrible business decisions, such as booking Frankie Valentine,” and later adds, “We had A.J. Steele and we thought he'd be the next Ron Simmons but it turns out he's just a jacked up Virgil. The only talent that we had was Southside Trash, and by talent we mean getting drunk and eating our own garbage backstage just to save a buck of the money they skimmed off all of the wrestlers!” In closing, “Needless to say, we'd like to start over fresh, and we'll let anyone book for us. Anyone. Just write to us and say "let me book for you" and you can. We'll work together to build the next big show, bigger then Wrestlemania and survivor series, but not as big as the Royal Rumble, they have 30 guys and we can only afford 10 right now, but we've got masks so some of our wrestlers can work twice, it also doubles the chances they might have a good match.” The person who created this ad on Craig’s List is not known to us, and as of this writing, it is still up on their site. (Rich Tate)

GWH wishes a happy birthday to Matt Stryker, who turns 29 today.

Today in Memoriam: Larry Doyle (37, 1998) and Pat O’Hara (84, 2004).
