World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown/ECW crew will be at the Pensacola Civic Center in Pensacola, FL, tonight. WWE has announced the following event: September 26 in Innsbruck, Austria, at Olympiahalle. (Rich Tate)

Ring of Honor has announced the following event: November 21 in Dayton, OH, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. (Rich Tate)

Southern Extreme Championship Wrestling will be at the Activity Center in Bremen, GA, tonight. Bell time will be 7:00 PM, and doors open at 6:00. All seats are $7, with kids 6 and under admitted free. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Watering Hole Sports Bar & Grill in Villa Rica, GA, either in person or by calling (770) 355-5742. Advertised: Tommy Rich versus Rob Adonis; Frankie Valentine versus the Nightmare; Josh Stone versus Bulldog Raines, whereas the loser must eat dog food; Adrian Hawkins versus Sal Rinauro; and Kyle Matthews & Chip Day versus Lamar Phillips & Jay Clinton. Championship Wrestling Overload results from the First Bank of Wrightsville in Wrightsville, GA, on July 4: Derrick Andrew Reynolds beat Damien Dread. Brandon Kage upset T.W. James. Damien beat Loco Motive when Reynolds accidentally hit Loco with a chain. Will Allen & the Col beat Cynder & Bob. Bobby Joiner beat The Ringlord via DQ to retain the CWO National Heavyweight Title. Afterward, the New Generation jumped Joiner and Damien came to his rescue. The two then challenged NG to a 6 man tag match, and their partner was CWO Commissioner Tommy Lee. Joiner, Damien & Lee beat Loco Motive, James & Reynolds. Reported attendance was 150. CWO presents “Pick Your Poison”, a special fan interaction night, on July 11 at the Johnson County Recreational Department in Wrightsville, GA. Doors open at 7pm and bell time is at 8pm. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12, and kids 6 and under are admitted free. This is an event in which the fans will be able to select the stipulations for the matches, including ladder matches, cage matches, strap matches, barb-wire matches, Russian chain matches, and more. Ultimate Fighting Championship 88 takes place at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GE, on September 6 for a live PPV, beginning at 7:00 PM. Advertised: Chuck Liddell versus Rashad Evans. Leading up to this card, the Atlanta Constitution reported that Burke was the women’s champion for the 126-pound division, and that Clara Mortensen was the champion for the 135-pound version. Burke had actually won her claim to the Women’s World Title when she defeated Mortensen on January 28, 1937, in Chattanooga, TN.

Mann continued to wrestle under the mask in Savannah. Longson had been the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Bobby Managoff in St. Louis, MO, on February 19, 1943. This version was the one recognized by the National Boxing Association as the National Wrestling Association.
