During the ROH event on August 2 in New York City, NY, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce will be presented with a “new” belt prior to his title match against Brent Albright. This is being done to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the National Wrestling Alliance. The belt is a recreation of the belt awarded to Harley Race in 1973, which was also worn by Jack Brisco and Shohei Baba.

At the time of his death, Gunkel was held both the Brass Knucks Title and the Georgia Television Title. Gunkel had been the reigning Brass Knucks Champion since he defeated Ox Baker on June 30, 1972, in Atlanta, and Georgia Television Champion since he defeated Big John on October 15, 1971, in Atlanta.
