NEWS and NOTES

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced the following events: November 29 in State College, PA, at the Bryce Jordan Center; December 8 in Philadelphia, PA, at the Wachovia Center; and December 9 in Bridgeport, CT, at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

The Royal Rumble PPV will take place on January 25 in Detroit, MI, at the Joe Louis Arena.

WWE has also moved the following events: from the originally scheduled December 19 in Fort Lauderdale, FL, at the Bank Atlantic Center to January 2; and from December 21 in Fort Myers, FL, at the Germain Arena to January 4.

The events scheduled for December 19 in Dothan, AL, and December 20 in Tallahassee, FL, are no longer listed at the WWE site. It is unclear at this time if those events are still scheduled.

It has been confirmed that WWE’s Jeff Hardy was escorted from a plane he boarded with brother Matt and Gregory Helms on Wednesday morning in Nashville, TN. It is still unclear as to the reason he was taken off the plane. He was not cuffed, but was clearly being ordered off the plane and taken away.

WWE’s Charlie Haas and wife Jackie Gayda are the parents of a new daughter. Taylor Suzanne Haas was born Wednesday afternoon, and mom and baby girl are doing fine. GWH congratulates the Haas family and wish them well.

Total Nonstop Action’s broadcast of iMPACT tonight will include: Christian Cage & A.J. Styles versus the Motor City Machine Guns; the Prince Justice Brotherhood versus Petey Williams & the Rock ‘N Rave Infection; Jay Lethal versus Booker T; and Kip James & Velvet Sky versus Rhino & Taylor Wilde. Awesome Kong, Beer Money, Inc., with Jacqueline, the Latin American Xchange, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Kurt Angle, and Mick Foley also make appearances.

Amid reports of his contract with TNA nearing an end, Kevin Nash has been the buzz of many Internet sites, with some expecting to see him return to WWE. However, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Nash has re-signed with TNA.

Great Championship Wrestling will be at the Gr8 Sk8 Plex in Phenix City, AL, tonight. Bell time is 7:30 PM. Advertised: Cru Jones defends the GCW Heavyweight Title against Johnny Swinger, Micah Taylor, and Bull Buchanan in a four-way match; and Sonny Siaki defends the GCW Interstate Heavyweight Title against J-Rod.

In a move that no doubt disappoints fans but shows the class we have come to expect from him, Siaki has made the decision to hang up his boots in order to help his brother Bernard. Siaki left WWE’s developmental camp in Tampa, FL, late last year to be closer to home and his brother. He told GWH of his brother’s situation at that time, but asked that we withhold that information until a more definitive decision could be made. Siaki informed GWH today that he is currently undergoing tests to be approved as a kidney donor for his brother, and the surgery won’t happen for a few more months, so he will continue to wrestle as long as he can until that time. We salute Siaki, his family, and friends, and we are pulling for Bernard to pull through with the aid of his brother and our friend Sonny. Click here for the full statement from Siaki regarding the situation. You can also click here for information on how you may be able to help the family. http://www.georgiawrestlinghistory.com/phpbb2_gwh/viewtopic.php?t=3965
