(7) 911 Inc’s Shawn Osborne (w/Rod Steel) defeated Sedrick Strong.

After taking October off to enjoy the Tampa Bay Rays improbable championship run, Pro Wrestling Riot returned to action on Saturday November 8, 2008 for its own championship run. The "Road to the Gold" began tonight with opening round matches in tournaments to crown heavyweight and tag team champions. As with all Riot events, it was held in The New Lakes in Regency Park Civic Center 8330 Civic Drive in Port Richey, FL.

(1) Myles Long (w/"the Marquee" Bruce Santee) defeated Ronnie Minge & Brett Thunder.

While Minge ran down his resume for the fans in the front row, Long & Thunder traded waistlock go behinds. Thunder & Long decided to try and take Minge out of the match but that ended when Minge hit Long with a Hot Shot. Long slid to the floor as Minge locked up with Thunder but got hit with several chest chops. Long came back in with a sunset flip which brought both men over into a suplex. With Minge out on his feet, Thunder went for a back suplex but Long countered out and got a pin with a bridge.

After the opening match, "the Marquee" Bruce Santee began talking about the WarGames match from night two of the 2008 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup. He said that despite the post match disagreement between Sideshow & Sedrick Strong cooler heads momentarily prevailed. With that said he brought out Strong followed by Sideshow and his friend CJ O’Doyle. Santee said as they celebrated the downfall of 911 Inc., Strong & Sideshow argued over Sideshow’s sister Danielle who was apparently felt up by Strong. Strong said Sideshow overreacted to something innocent. Sideshow said he has never trusted Strong but this one time he was willing to apologize. Strong seemed to also apologize for making online comments about Sideshow’s mother. After finally shaking hands everyone left the ring so the tournament could begin.

(2) Chris Jones defeated Austin Amadeus.

Amadeus tried to be the aggressor with a waistlock takedown but Jones went for a counter into a front facelock. Amadeus countered out into a wristlock only to be put in a side headlock. Jones went back to the neck with the front facelock but Amadeus countered out into a wristlock bending Jones over. But Jones escaped and countered out of an F5 into a pin attempt. Jones tried to fool Amadeus on a slingshot from the ring apron but it backfired as Amadeus sent him into the ring barricades. After some body shots, Amadeus sent Jones back to the ring for a suplex for two. Amadeus went for the submission with a neck vise but Jones fought to his feet but his wheel barrel move was countered into a backbreaker for two. Amadeus went back to the neck stretch hold but Jones refused to submit. Jones fought back with forearms and a tornado DDT but he couldn’t get the pin as he fell in exhaustion. Jones quickly got a second wind hitting Amadeus with a huricurana but Amadeus got to his feet and sent Jones to the floor. Jones recovered and hit Amadeus with a slingshot legdrop back in the ring for two. Jones looked like he was ready to end it, so he laid in the forearm shots but Amadeus hit a power bomb for two. Jones fought out of the second attempt but ran into a forearm shot. He was dazed as Amadeus grabbed him but not dazed enough that he fought off Amadeus to win with a victory roll.

(3) Bumz’ R Us (Milo Beasley & Ray Beez w/Milo Bearsly) defeated the Dynamic Duo (Fantastic Dantastic & K-Bleezy).

Yes the Bumz’ brought a teddy bear in a wheel chair to the ring with them. Beasley said he wouldn’t lock up with Dantastic until his breath was checked. The referee approved of the breath and we were under way with some chain wrestling that ended with a rolling inside cradle that went around the ring several times. Both men took a moment to clear the cobwebs with a test of strength that ended when Beasley tagged in Beez who missed a blind tag and Bleezy got a rolling cradle for two. Beez got to his feet with a side headlock and made a blind tag but it backfired as Beasley crashed into Beez. This allowed the Duo to hit a double team legdrop for two. Fantastic went up but Beasley caught him and began the airplane spin that left Dantastic lying in the ring and Beasley hitting the ring after missing a top rope elbow drop. Both men made the tag to their partners but got hit with battering ram headlocks and back suplexes which left all four men dazed. Bleezy went for a spear but only met the floor and Beasley followed with a senton. Dantastic stopped Beasley from his next move and sent him to the floor. Beez broke them up with a rolling tope from the top. All three were then hit by Dantastic with his superhero dive. All four men got back in the ring trying to get the pin but the Duo’s double team move fell short when a corner whip was reversed and crotches met the corner buckles. The Bumz’ hit a double team rolling fireman’s carry into the prone Duo who were laid out in the corner. All the Bumz’ needed to do was pull the Duo out to get the pin. After the match all four men and the bear shook hands.

(4) Sideshow defeated Dimballah of House of Vitale (w/Amy Vitale) via DQ.

Vitale seemed to have extreme fear in her eyes as she brought Dimballah to the ring for his match. To the shock of no one this match began before the referee could give the ring instructions to the combatants. Dimballah knocked Sideshow to the floor and then into the ring post. Sideshow fought back raking Dimballah’s face and eyes. But Dimballah had an equalizer, namely a fork which he used to open up Sideshow’s forehead. Finally Dimballah tossed Sideshow into the ring and the referee started the bout. Vitale paced ringside as Dimballah hit Sideshow with shots to the throat. Dimballah briefly stopped the attack to get a chair and stalk Vitale with a look of lust on his face. The distraction worked in Sideshow’s favor as he used the chair to springboard onto Dimballah. Back in the ring Sideshow hit Dimballah with a head butt that looked below the belt but the referee allowed the match to continue as Sideshow laid in the right hand punches. With Dimballah still drooling over Vitale, Sideshow went for the brass knuckles which seemed to only daze Dimballah. The referee tried to get in between the duo but got tossed to the mat so Dimballah could lock in the Asiatic Spike submission hold. Sideshow got to the ropes but Dimballah refused to break the hold and the referee called for the bell and the DQ. When Dimballah continued to keep the hold locked in Sedrick Strong, Bruce Santee & CJ O’Doyle hit the ring. Dimballah saw them coming and dipped out as Vitale talked on her cell phone saying to someone, "We need to do the deal right now! I can’t control these freaks anymore."

(5) Jaison Moore defeated Craig Classic.

This was a collision of 2008 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup competitors and they didn’t disappoint. The bout began with some chain wrestling trying to get control. Despite several offensive moves both men stood tall in the middle of the ring. That was until Moore hit Classic with several kicks to the body sending Classic to the floor. But Moore’s baseball slide missed the mark and it allowed Classic to get in some shots. But Moore recovered and hiptossed Classic to the floor before returning to the ring. Moore kept on the offense until he ran into Classic’s boot and a suplex for two. Classic took Moore to the mat with a chinlock submission. Classic let the hold go and delivered a running forearm to Moore’s jaw for two. Classic went for the punches in the corner but Moore fought his way out hitting a Samoan Drop for two. Moore hit a clothesline but Classic fought back with a shot of his own, setting up a slam followed by a trip up but Moore quickly got to his feet and hitting Classic with a modified jawbreaker and superkick. The kick set up the rolling bomb in the corner. Moore went for the J Driver but Classic countered into a tiger bomb for two. Classic went to argue with the referee and it allowed Moore to recover and hit the J Driver getting the win. After the match Moore extended his hand to Classic who took it and then grabbed Moore up into a sitout power bomb which brought the rain of boos from the fans.

Before the next match Amy Vitale took the ring mic from Jonathon Gold. "The Princess of Pro Wrestling" said she signed a deal that got her lots of money that also allowed her the ability to give complete focus on Club Vitale & the Heartbreak Express. She said it was time to bring out a close friend and spiritual advisor Vic Slowhand. After blinding the fans with his wardrobe, Slowhand rhymed about something before saying he was taking over control of the House of Vitale. Ms. Vitale went to the locker room to count the money as Raymond Snow & Lou the Fixer came out to the ring.

(6) The British Lions (Tommy Taylor & Chris Gray) defeated Lou the Fixer and Raymond "Killing Machine" Snow (w/Vic Slowhand).

The emergence of Slowhand didn’t seem to faze the Lions one bit. However the size difference showed as Taylor tried to elude the Fixer but got sent to a corner. Taylor fought back with forearm shots but was powered to the corner where Snow tagged in with several bodyshots following. The Fixer & Snow kept Taylor isolated from Gray for several moments and the fans cheered on the Lions. Taylor kept trying to get to Gray but kept getting tossed to his opponents’ corner. Taylor finally got in enough punches to Snow’s head to get the momentum his way and he tagged in Gray but he too was run over by Snow. The Fixer came back in for some punishment as Gray tried to clear the cobwebs. A forearm shot to the Fixer’s head allowed Taylor a tag back in the match and a mat based sleeper hold. But the Fixer refused to quit. So Taylor released the hold and tagged Gray back in and he tried to take the Fixer down, but he was locked into a surfboard like hold. Gray escaped only to be caught in a powerslam for two. Snow came back in hitting an elbow. The duo began to maneuver the referee around the ring allowing them to double team and make illegal tags as Taylor protested from his side of the ring. Even Slowhand got in some cheap shots as the referee sent Taylor to his corner. Despite the powerful attack, the Fixer & Snow couldn’t put Gray away. Gray countered a Snow sidewalk slam into a head scissor and it allowed Gray the time to tag in the very well rested Taylor who went after both of his opponents with stiff bodyshots. The Lions double teamed the Fixer and avoided the Snow corner splash which actually leveled the Fixer. The Lions dumped Snow to the floor and hit the Fixer with a double team bodyblock to get the hard fought win. After the match Snow and the Fixer had a heated exchange but the words of Slowhand seemed to mellow the two beasts long enough to get a handshake.

(7) 911 Inc’s Shawn Osborne (w/Rod Steel) defeated Sedrick Strong.

That’s right the "Miami Pound Machine" was in Pro Wrestling Riot advising "the Bad Seed" as Ron Niemi was working elsewhere on 911 Inc. business. Osborne spent the opening minutes of the match on his butt as Strong kept sending him there. Osborne tried to fight back but got taken down with a side headlock. Strong kept the momentum going until it went against him as Osborne tossed him over the top rope crashing into the ring barricade. The referee told Steel to back off as Osborne went out after Strong driving him into the floor with a bodyslam. Osborne went into the ring for the countout win but Strong got to the ring do that made Osborne come out and toss Strong in the ring for a two count pin attempt. Osborne went after the injured back with a knee into Strong’s back as both arms were pulled to the farthest limits before they would pop out of place. Strong somehow got to his feet only to be hit with a backdrop. Osborne occupied the referee so Steel could get in some cheap shots as Strong lay near the ring apron. Strong hit Osborne with several punches but it took one backbreaker to get Osborne a two count. Osborne went back to the stretch hold hoping this time it would get the tap out. But Strong got to his feet and he backed Osborne into a corner where he drove Osborne’s body into the buckles. Osborne ran into Strong’s boots and it allowed Strong the chance to hit a inverted blockbuster like hold. Strong got to his feet and he tagged Osborne with several shots but he also tagged the referee with one that sent him crashing to the mat. Osborne went for a suplex but Strong countered into a pin that the fans counted down. Strong pinned Osborne a second time as the referee was motionless. Strong hit a kick to the head but Steel hit him with a folding chair to the back. Sideshow came out and chased off Steel, grabbing the folding chair. Strong got some distance from Osborne and he saw Sideshow with the chair. As the two argued it allowed Osborne time to recover and hit the It Factor to win the match. After the match Sideshow confronted Strong as Bruce Santee came out to try and squash the tension. It didn’t do much as the two men exchanged punches as CJ O’Doyle joined Santee at ringside. Santee forced Strong into a corner as O’Doyle got Sideshow on the floor and heading to the locker room. Strong mentioned Sideshow’s sister and that only pissed Sideshow off and the rest of the locker room had to come out and break them up. They did little to make that happen as Sideshow slid past all of them and attacked Strong from behind.
