World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown/ECW crew will be at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT, tonight. SmackDown will be taping for the December 12 broadcast. Advertised: Jeff Hardy versus Triple H; and Hornswoggle & Finlay versus Mark Henry & Tony Atlas.

WWE results from the December 8 edition of RAW, from Philadelphia, PA: Tommy Dreamer over Shelton Benjamin in a pre-show dark match; CM Punk over John Morrison to advance in the contenders tournament for the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; Charlie Haas over MVP; Chris Jericho over Jeff Hardy; Finlay & Hornswoggle over Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix; Rey Mysterio over Kofi Kingston to advance in the contenders tournament for the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Manu over Batista & Triple H in a handicap tag team match; Dolph Ziggler over R-Truth by countout; and John Cena over Edge by disqualification.

2008 Slammys were also presented at the event: John Morrison & the Miz for tag team; Evan Bourne for best finisher; Jeff Hardy for extreme moment; Edge and Vickie Guerrero for best couple; Beth Phoenix for best diva; CM Punk for the “Oh My God” moment; Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair at WrestleMania for best match; the Great Khali for best “Damn” moment; and Chris Jericho for superstar. Also noted: Vladimir Kozlov for breakout star; the Dirt Sheet for best WWE.com show; R-Truth for musical performance; Todd Grisham and Matt Striker for announce team; and Charlie Haas for best impersonator as Beth Phoenix.

The final overall rating for the December 5 edition of WWE’s SmackDown was 2.1.

WWE has announced the following events: February 2, RAW/ECW in St. Louis, MO, at the Scottrade Center; February 6, RAW/ECW in Vancouver, BC, at the PNE Agrodome; February 9, RAW in Oakland, CA, at the Oracle Arena; and April 4, the Hall of Fame Ceremonies in Houston, TX, at the Toyota Center.

Mike Johnson is reporting that JBL and Joey Styles got into it during WWEs recent trip to Iraq. Word has it that JBL, known for many “hazing” incidents in the past, chose Styles as his victim on the trip, only this time JBL got it back when Styles punched JBL, opening up a gash underneath one of his eyes.

Total Nonstop Action will be taping for iMPACT! at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, tonight. Advertised: The tournament for the held up TNA X Division Title continues, featuring Sonjay Dutt versus Chris Sabin and Consequences Creed versus Akira Raijin.

Don Matthews beat Aaron Lee. John Carnage beat Brad Logan – Carnage added insult to injury prompting Don Matthews to hit the ring with a 2x4. The Hate Junkies (Dany Only & Stryknyn) and the Franchise (Ryan Michaels & Matt Sells) battled to a double DQ. Commissioner Jacob Ashworth then ordered a Texas Tornado match for next week. Chris King capped off his 7-month chase by pinning Seth Delay to become the new North Georgia Champion.

Jack Crawford managed El Mongol. Crawford and Paul Jones joined Capral to discuss the pending suspension of El Mongol, and Crawford remained adamant that Mongol did not have to sign for a match waiving the disqualification rule. By the end of the discussion, Jones had made the suspension effective immediately, much to the dismay of Crawford and Mongol.
