New Three-Part Series Premieres On Spike TV Wednesday, January 14 at 10:30pm ET

Las Vegas, NV (USA) -- In anticipation of one of the biggest mixed martial arts events and rematches of all-time, UFC 94 featuring Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre and Lightweight Champion BJ Penn, Spike TV will present UFC® Primetime® premiering this Wednesday, January 14 from 10:30-11:00pm ET/PT.

“There is no better fight to launch UFC Primetime than Georges St-Pierre vs. BJ Penn,” said Dana White, UFC President. “You have two of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in the world fighting each other when they are both in their prime, and are at the top of their game, and for the title. If you think about it, a fight like this only happens a few times in your lifetime.”

UFC® Primetime, produced by the UFC, delivers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look into the lives of two of UFC’s biggest stars, St-Pierre and Penn, as they prepare for their epic clash in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 31st. Spike TV will present three special weekly installments that will take viewers from the cliffs of Kailua to the streets of Montreal in an unfiltered portrait of two great warriors heading into battle for what promises to be one of the greatest rematches in UFC history.

The two fighters last met in March 2006 at UFC 58, when St-Pierre defeated BJ Penn in a narrow split-decision. Ever since then, Penn has been on the comeback trail cleaning out the lightweight division while St-Pierre was climbing his way to the top of the welterweight division. At UFC 94 Penn makes his move to recapture the welterweight title, which he last held in January 2004, while also becoming the first ever current double-division title holder in the UFC.

“I’m a very nice guy, that’s true,” says St-Pierre in the upcoming UFC Primetime. “But people have no idea what goes through my mind sometimes. When I fight, I go there to destroy my opponent, to give nothing to my opponent, and take everything away from him. I want to take him out. I know how to fight this guy; I know I’m going to beat him.”

“To fight Georges, you know, he’s going to be on the other side, they’re going to be announcing it, and there’s going to be one thing…constantly going through my head,” says Penn in the first installment of UFC Primetime. “To the death, we’re going to go to the death, I’m not gonna stop, I’m willing to die, I want to be the greatest fighter ever…”

UFC 94: ST-PIERRE VS. PENN 2 will be available live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST on iN DEMAND, DIRECTV, DISH Network, TVN, Bell ExpressVu, Shaw Communications and Viewer’s Choice Canada for a suggested retail price of $44.95 for standard definition or high-definition broadcasts (where available).

Christopher Martello of Spike TV serves as executive in charge of production of UFC Primetime.
