Police Blotter: Verne Gagne

Verne Gagne, 82, is possibly looking at charges, due to an incident where he injured ninety-seven-year-old Helmut R. Gutmann, who later died.

On January 26, Gagne threw Gutmann (his roommate at a Bloomington, Minnesota, nursing home) to the ground, breaking Gutmann's leg and causing trauma to his head.

After initial treatment, Gutmann was again hospitalized, where he passed away on February 14.

Gagne and Gutmann were living at Friendship Village, a facility which cares for people with Alzheimer's-related dementia, a condition affecting both men.
