FSE Expands WEC® Programming with Launch of “WEC: ALBOROTO” Friday, March 20

Las Vegas, NV (USA) -- World Extreme Cagefighting® (WEC®) and Fox Sports en Español (FSE) announced today that FSE is significantly expanding its mixed martial arts content with the launch of WEC: ALBOROTO, a new Spanish-language program featuring some of the most memorable matchups ever seen in the WEC.

“We are pleased to have this new programming deal in place with Fox Sports en Español, World Extreme Cagefighting will complement UFC programming currently airing on FSE,” said Peter Dropick, Vice President, Event Operations & Production. “Like the UFC, this deal will open up World Extreme Cagefighting and its incredible fighters to a larger, more diverse U.S.-based audience.”

FSE’s new show “WEC: ALBOROTO” premieres Friday, March 20 at 12:00am ET/9pm PT. FSE network will air 24 one-hour programs throughout the year. The scheduled episodes will feature top WEC fighters in spectacular matchups, including Mike Brown vs. Jeff Curran; Urijah Faber vs. Dominick Cruz; Brian Bowles vs. Charlie Valencia; Damacio Page vs. Scott Jorgensen; and Brandon Foxworth vs. Manny Tapia.

“With the launch of this new programming, Fox Sports en Español demonstrates its continued commitment to providing viewers with coverage of the world’s most exciting sporting events,” said David Sternberg, General Manager & Executive Vice President of Fox Sports International.

In the fall of 2006, Fox Sports en Español and UFC reached a television deal to give FSE Spanish-language television rights to the first UFC show fully produced in Spanish.
