Ultimate Fighting Championship(R) Videogame Allows Consumers to Enter the Virtual Octagon(TM) with Game Sample Prior to Worldwide Debut in May
AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Apr. 23, 2009 -- THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) and Zuffa, LLC today announced the UFC® 2009 Undisputed™ playable demo is now available for free download via Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, as well as PlayStation®Network for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. In celebration of UFC® 97, held last weekend in Montreal, Quebec, the playable demo will allow consumers to sample an exhibition bout with former UFC® Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. The demo will also include a portion of the game’s Tutorial Mode, which further educates players about UFC 2009 Undisputed’s unique gameplay controls, as well as the sport of mixed martial arts. UFC 2009 Undisputed is scheduled for release on May 19, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system.

About the UFC 2009 Undisputed Playable Demo
The UFC 2009 Undisputed playable demo for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will allow players to enter the virtual Octagon for an Exhibition Mode bout between Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. The three-round demo contest depicts the renowned Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas while supporting 1-2 players. Mario Yamasaki serves as the referee. In addition, players can navigate a portion of the game’s Tutorial Mode for more information about UFC 2009 Undisputed’s unique gameplay controls, as well as the sport of mixed martial arts.

Players will explore a deep roster of more than 80 top fighters in UFC competition across all five weight classes. The game’s Create-a-Fighter system will jumpstart the careers of future champions through character customization, while a robust Career Mode will develop a fighter’s attributes and skill sets while fighting to enter the UFC Hall of Fame. In addition, UFC 2009 Undisputed lets players revisit key moments in UFC history and attempt to recreate the matchups through a Classic Fights Mode. Furthermore, players will be able to enhance their gameplay experience through online support, including downloadable content.
