Former WWE Star "Goldberg" to Take Part In Havasu 95 Speedway Event

Lake Havasu City is known as a boating destinatnion, but as the Havasu 95 Speedway season closer, the boat races will be on land. Various celebrities will be on hand as Havasu 95 Speedway presents "Night of Destruction" Saturday, May 23, at 7:00 pm.
Lake Havasu City, AZ, May 15, 2009 -- Various celebrities will be on hand as Havasu 95 Speedway presents "Night of Destruction" Saturday, May 23, at 7:00 pm.
The first event of the evening will be a 50 lap endure race with the "Slammin Bangin" Factory Stocks. "This is a distance never before attempted by these guys, so it should be a ton of fun," said Dennis Rudin, with Havasu 95 Speedway.
The endure will be followed by Lake Havasu City's first ever Asphalt Boat Race. "This is anything but an ordinary show," Rudin said. "Basically, it's cars crushing boats," said Rudin. "Cars will drag a boat, without a trailer, around the track in hopes of having the most boat left to win the cash prize."
Fans may recognize some of the entrants in the event.
- Matt Kutcher who has a lengthy resume as Special Effects Supervisor for such films as Righteous Kill (2008), Snakes on a Plane (2006) and currently Piranha 3D (In production in Lake Havasu City).
- Bill Goldberg, the current host of SPEED's "Bullrun" and a former WCW & WWE professional wrestler.
- David Freiburger, the world's most renowned car junkie and Editor for Hot Rod Magazine, along with his hard wrenching comedic sidekick Chad Reynolds.
Additionally, the event will garner the city some television coverage. "44 Blue Productions is going to film this event for a Car Junkies' episode, which will air on TRU TV," said Rudin.
According to event organizers, the excitement amongst the local drivers is apparent, judging by the number of entries and boats that are being collected. There is still room for more contestants however, and interested drivers are encouraged to sign up. Rules are posted at www.havasu95speedway.com.
Intermission will feature a complete car for spectators to "Whack for Wounded Warriors." Spectators will have the chance to demolish a Ford Crown Victoria with a 20 pound sledge hammer for adults, and a smaller one for kids. Participants will get two "whacks" for $3, with the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project. Rudin
promised that anything remaining of the car will then be finished off "violently" by the Havasu 95 Speedway crew.
After intermission is the Demolition Derby. It will be cars crushing cars, until the last one survives. "This event is always a crowd pleaser," said Rudin.
The evening conclused with a fireworks display for the fans to enjoy.
Tickets are $15 which includes one Adult and one child (12 years or younger). Ticket quantities are limited. Advance purchase for tickets will begin May 13 at several local businesses, including Anderson Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, Walt's Motorsports, Anderson Toyota and Peggy's Sunrise Cafe.
VIP tickets are $30 per person and will be on sale May 23 at the gate.
