Jeff Monson Pleads Guilty To Malicious Mischief

Earlier today, Jeff Monson was back in court, where he admitted to last fall's spray painting of an anarchy symbol on Washington's state capitol. (Well, it's not like he could deny it, after allowing the act to be publicly chronicled, because Monson fancies himself a rights-activist pioneer, in ESPN The Magazine.)

Monson also entered an Alford plea (basically admitting he'd be convicted, were there a trial) on charges that he later performed a similar (mis)deed at a military recruitment building.

Monson is scheduled to be sentenced on October 1, and prosecutors will seek a ninety-day stint in jail and nearly twenty-two-thousand-dollars in restitution.
