Maverick defeated 11 other men in a one night tournament to become the #1 contender to King Mega's NYWC Championship. After the match High Society, Dan Eckos and The Celtic Saints attacked Maverick. King Mega then came out and brutally attacked Maverick and hit a "Rikishi Driver" off the second rope through a table. No details on Maverick's condition except that he felt a sharp pain in his neck upon impact and experienced some numbness on the left side of his body temporarily.
