SAW Goes To The Mat For The Make-A-Wish Foundation

By - Lekisha Oliver:

For one moment, imagine that a life-threatening illness has taken away part of your life.

Now for most people it can scare them into chills, but imagine again if this is a child. Make-A-Wish Foundation has always been a bright light for children facing some of the hardest times in their lives. The illumination that brings hope back into the lives and into the hearts of the children and their families has been a wish that could be granted, but only with the kindness of donations.

This weekend, Showtime All-Star Wrestling will be doing its part to help with this wonderful organization by having a show at the Tennessee Fairgrounds on Saturday, November 21, 2009, to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Wrestling has a proud history with this and other charitable organizations; this year, all the profits will go to this organization.

"We participated with the MDA telethon back at Labor Day," said Showtime All-Star Wrestling owner Reno Riggins. "It was a great experience for me personally so we decided to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation."

Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas with Paul Adams are topping this card Saturday night. After last month's tables match that nearly tore the house down, this month the former tag team partners are taking on each other in a Last Man Standing Match.

"Well I don't know if we can top what we did last month," Riggins continues, "but we'll try."

And this writer thinks that Stevens and Douglas will definitely make the night end with a powerful match.

The SAW tag team titles will also be on the line when Derrick King Enterprises (Derrick King and JT Stahr with Sista O'Feelya) will take on Vordell Walker and a surprise opponent. Hammerjack will also be in action against "Maniac" Marc Anthony; Flash Flannagen will take on Rick Santel with Paul Adams; Mike Taylor vs. David Young with Paul Adams; and opening up the show will be middle Tennessee favorite "The Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant with Miss Boogie against Drew Haskins.

Bell time will be 8:00 p.m. and tickets are available at the door or online at www.sawonline.tv.

Make sure to come out to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation Saturday night. But Riggins reminded the fans one thing before leaving, "set your DVRs for 8:00 p.m. on Saturday night on CW 58 and check us out."
