1960: Freddie Blassie defeated Ray Gunkel in a main event death match at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Jones was the special referee for the match. It was billed that there was to be an ambulance at the door, prepared to take away the loser of the match between Blassie and Gunkel, and Blassie had vowed that if he did not put Gunkel in the hospital, he would leave Georgia. Chief Little Eagle defeated Tokyo Joe in the semi-main event. Little Eagle participated in an autograph session for fans. In the program we have for this card, the winner of the previous week’s Mystery Wrestler Contest was “Mr. Kay Fabian.” It was announced that Haystacks Calhoun would be on the card on March 5, 1960, and that Pepper Rodriguez and the Bat would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.

1963: Choo-Choo Lynn defeated Lenny Montana by disqualification to retain the Georgia Heavyweight Title at the Macon City Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. The origin of this version of the Georgia Heavyweight Title is unclear to us at this time. The tournament was necessary because Jones had declared the title vacant on January 30, 1965, following a match between former champions the Medics and Fuller & Galento. The program we have for this card mentioned that Yukon Eric had died on January 16, 1965, and the cause of death was attributed to suicide. It was announced that Jack Bence, Darling Dagmar, and Baby Cheryl would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.

1971: El Mongol defeated Nick Bockwinkel to win the Georgia Heavyweight Title in the final round of a one-night tournament at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. The tournament also included Luke Graham, Assassin #2, Dick Steinborn, Skandor Akbar, Mr. Ito, Michel Dubois (Alexis Smirnoff), Silento Rodriguez, Kubla Khan, Bob Griffin, Jim Wilson, Gene Bobo, and Eduardo DeLynch. The title had been vacant since the NWA reportedly recommended such action following an appeal filed by Homer O’Dell and Buddy Colt after Colt seemingly lost the title to Ray Gunkel on November 27, 1970. Jack Crawford managed Khan. Wilson participated in an autograph session for fans. Charlie Harben and Charlie Smith were credited as being referees for this card. It was announced that Bobo Brazil would be wrestling in Atlanta on February 12, 1971, and that Danny Hodge and Nikita Mulkovitch would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.

1974: We do not have results for this card, but the Missouri Mauler, managed by Rock Hunter, was scheduled to defend the Georgia Heavyweight Title against Ray Candy at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for All-South Wrestling Alliance promoter Ann Gunkel. The advertised main event was to feature Wayne Cowan (Dutch Mantell) versus Ted Oates in a brass knucks match.
