NEWS

Peach State Pandemonium will feature Jason Cross and Velvet Jones on April 19 at 11:00 AM ET. Feel free to call in at (347) 324-5735. Cross is returning to the ring from a serious injury suffered about two years ago, and Jones is a rising young star on the local scene. Larry Goodman will handle co-hosting duties, and Tim Dix will provide additional commentary. We have also confirmed Bill Watts as our guest on May 3, to coincide with the debut of Les Thatcher as an addition to the co-host team. (Rich Tate)

The Independent Wrestling Network returns to the Fishcrow Arena in Columbus, GA, tonight. Bell time is 7:30 PM. This venue is the same one formerly known as the GCW Sports Arena. Advertised: Mr. Hughes defends the IWN Heavyweight Title against Mr. Columbus; Chris Stevens versus Buff Bagwell; Frankie Valentine & Adrian Hawkins versus the Southside Trash; Rob Adonis versus Jason Cross; Ron Stalker versus A.J. The NWA Anarchy card for April 19 in Cornelia, GA, at the NWA Arena features two Hardcore Hell rematches: Iceberg (with the Reverend) defends the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title against the man he defeated for the championship, Shatter (with Attorney Jeff G. Bailey), and Slim J (with Shadow Jackson) vs. Nemesis (with Jay Fury). Also on the card an NWA Anarchy Tag Team Title Match: Devil's Rejects (Azrael & Shaun Tempers with the Reverend) (c) vs. Wild Bunch (Billy Buck & Chris King), Consequences Creed vs. Hayden Young vs. Jeff Lewis for a shot at the NWA Anarchy TV Title, Mikal Judas vs. Mr. Adonis with Jeremy Vain barred from ringside, New Wave (Derrick Driver & Stephen Walters) vs. Talent & Money (J. T. United Championship Wrestling will be at the South Knoxville Community Center in Knoxville, TN, on April 19. The venue is located at 522 Maryville Pike. Tickets are $7, and action gets underway at 8:15 PM. Advertised: a Tennessee chain match featuring Jeff Anderson versus John Justice; Shane Williams defends the UCW Heavyweight Title against Keith Knox; Trooper T defends the UCW TV Title against the Rip; and the Death Row Inmates (Jason Maxx & Willie B. Assassin #1 had been the reigning Georgia Heavyweight Champion since he defeated El Mongol on March 21, 1969, in Atlanta. It was announced that Los Toros be wrestling on the card on April 25, 1969.

APRIL 18, 1970 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Buddy Colt & Professor Kimura defeated Joe Scarpa & Les Wolff > The Challenger defeated El Medico > Paul DeMarco defeated Jim Wilson / Notes: This was taped for the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. The Assassins joined Capral to refute allegations of pulling a switch during the match between Nick Bockwinkel and Assassin #1. After being shown photographic proof, both Assassins denied the extra man in the ring was either of them, opening themselves up to Capral asking them was there actually a third Assassin. The masked men, clearly upset, stormed out of the studio. Homer O’Dell managed Buddy Colt & Professor Kimura.
