World Wrestling Entertainment results from the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO, on May 25: Kofi Kingston over Shelton Benjamin; Vladimir Koslov over Funaki; Cherry over Natalya; John Morrison & the Miz over Shannon Moore & Jimmy Wang Yang; CM Punk over Chavo Guerrero; Matt Hardy over MVP; Big Show over Mark Henry; and Undertaker over Edge in a no DQ match. WWE’s RAW crew will be at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO, tonight. (Rich Tate)

There was a free wrestling show on May 24 in Kennesaw, GA, at Bill Heard Chevrolet. Results as follows: J-Rod beat Frankie Valentine, Rob Adonis over The Russian, David Young & Elix Skipper beat Sean banks & Kodiak, Krissy Vaine (that's a surprise) beat Amber O'Neill lost to Krissy Vaine, Raven & Disco Inferno beat Buff Bagwell & Rick Steiner  due to interference by The Barbarian. Judy Bagwell was grilling hotdogs at the show. Another show scheduled today at Bill Heard Chevrolet, 950 Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw at 6pm. Main event will be Buff Bagwell & Rick Steiner vs. Raven & The Barbarian. (Larry Goodman)

NAWA Ring Champions results from Bash on the Hill in Cedartown, GA, on May 25: Chris Ganz over Lamar Phillips; Billy Love over Jay Clinton; Chris Lightning, Chris Ganz & the Patriot over the Exotic Ones (Jay Clinton, Rick Michaels & Simon Sermon); Bulldog Raines over the Nightmare; Bambi over the Thug, with Nigel Sherrod; and Ricky Morton over Jason Valentine. On May 25, after a wrestling seminar thrown by GAWF champion Steve Goins, Great American Wrestling Federation had a house show at the Hosford Game room in Hosford, FL. Maxxwell Chicago defeated Street Bandit. Jack Tatum defeated "The Mexican Madman" The Untamable. In a GAWF heavyweight title match, Steve Goins successfully defended the belt against Maxxwell Chicago. And in the main event, and another GAWF title match, Steve Goins defeated Jack Tatum, Untamable, and Chicago Maxxwell in a 4 way elimination match to retain. United States Wrestling Organization/ATL results from May 24 in Nashville, TN, at the Stadium Inn. Attendance was 71: White Tiger beat Intern. Richard Lowe (with Boy) beat Shawn Hoodrich. Dyronic beat Boy (with Richard Lowe). Little Booger (with Charming Charles) beat White Tiger by DQ when Booger grabbed Charles' cane and pitched it to Tiger and dropped to the mat as ref Mark Owen turned around. Damien Payne beat Chris Norte by DQ when Lee Cross interfered. L.T. Falk beat Bruno Davis. MAY 26, 1927 (THURSDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (John Contos – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > John Paxos defeated Tony Divitchi > Stanislaus Zbyszko defeated Arthur Bourgatz > World Heavyweight Title Match: Joe Stecher* defeated Wladek Zbyszko / Notes: Joe Stecher was declared the winner of his match when Wladek Zbyszko was deemed unable to continue. Zbyszko had fallen from the ring during the second fall, causing injuries. As a result, both men had their pay held up pending a review of the incident. Stecher had been the reigning World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Stanislaus Zbyszko in St. Louis, MO, on May 30, 1925. This version was the one linked back to George Hackenschmidt.

MAY 26, 1933 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – GEORGIA POWER ATHLETIC AND SOCIAL CLUB (F.P. Marshall had been the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Ali Baba in Columbus, OH, on June 26, 1936. This version was the one recognized by the National Boxing Association as the National Wrestling Association.

MAY 26, 1954 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WLWA STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Women’s Match: Millie Stafford and Ida Mae Martinez wrestled to a draw > Don McIntyre & Harry Smith defeated Jack Dillon & White Savage / Notes: This is believed to have been the first airing of the local televised wrestling program out of Atlanta, “Live Atlanta Wrestling”, featuring Ray McCay as the host. The show aired on WLWA TV Channel 11, an ABC affiliate, and according to some sources, was seen in other towns around Georgia on a weekly delay. The programs were done in the WLWA studios located on West Peachtree Street. McCay had previously been broadcasting matches on WQXI 790 AM radio.

MAY 26, 1972 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – PAUL JONES SPORTS ARENA [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Koa Tiki defeated Cisco Grimaldo > John Sullivan and the Avenger wrestled to a draw > Tim Geohagen defeated Oki Shikina > Bob Armstrong defeated Billy Spears > Roberto Soto & Dick Steinborn defeated the Assassins > Ox Baker defeated Buddy Colt by disqualification / Notes: Billy Spears managed Buddy Colt. Eddie Smith was credited as being a referee for this card. The Avenger participated in an autograph session for fans. According to the program for this card, it was reported that Buddy Fuller had recently undergone surgery for a severe back injury, said to be caused by the Assassins some time back. It said he was recuperating in Tampa, FL, and would be out of action for several months.
