GEORGIA WRESTLING NEWS, NOTES, AND NOSTALGIA: 06/03/2008

Peach State Pandemonium returns after a two-week break and debut in their new day/time slot on June 4 at 9:00 PM ET. Along with a new format and extended 90-minute slot, this episode will feature Tommy Rich and Dennis Condrey. (Rich Tate)

World Wrestling Entertainment was in Bakersfield, CA, at the Rabobank Arena on June 2 for the RAW broadcast: on the live portion, Mr. Kennedy over Umaga by countout; Santino Marella & Carlito over Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly; Chris Jericho over JBL by disqualification to retain the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea over Mickie James & Melina; Lance Cade over Trevor Murdoch; and John Cena over Jeff Hardy. Florida Championship Wrestling’s Ted DiBiase, Jr., debuted in a backstage scene. WWE’s SmackDown/ECW crew will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, tonight. (Rich Tate)

On May 31, Southern Classic Wrestling was at the Big Dog Billiards in Sandersville, GA, for "Payback". In a match for the SCW Heavyweight championship, Terry Lawler defeated champion Leatherface by DQ after Adam Stanton attacked Lawler with his newly won Georgia Heritage title. Adam Stanton was crowned the new Georgia Heritage champion after he defeated Ronnie Rage by submission. The Foreign Legion defeated The Cult of Chaos by pinfall. Stricnine defeated Brandon Kage by pinfall. Flatline w/Greg Haze defeated Mortachai. Midnight Rider defeated Greg Haze by pinfall. Full Impact Pro was in Crystal River, FL, on May 30 in front of a crowd of around 400 people. Chris Jones defeated Dingo. Heartbreak Enterprises member, Damien Wayne, w/Sean and Phil Davis and Baby Doll, defeated Kyle O'Reilly thanks to outside interference. Daizee Haze defeated Rain. Erick Stevens defeated Davey Richards. In an anything goes match, Dark City Fight Club defeated Black Market. For the FIP tag team championship, YRR members Jason King and Kenny King defeated Age of the Fall members Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black, w/Rain, to retain the title thanks to outside interference from Sal Rinauro. In a FIP Heavyweight Title match, Roderick Strong retained the title by defeating both Austin Aries and Jerry Lynn in a 3-way elimination match. In the match, Lynn eliminated Aries and Strong pinned Lynn. Scotty 2 Hotty and Delirious defeated YRR members Florida Heritage champion Sal Rinauro and Chasyn Rance.

On May 31, FIP traveled to Arcadia, FL. Erick Stevens defeated Damien Wayne, Dingo, and Jon David after pinning Dingo. Chasyn Rance, w/Portia Perez and two unnamed women, defeated Chris Jones. Rain and Leva defeated Portia Perez and an unnamed woman when Rain pinned the unknown woman. Kyle O'Reilly and some unknown wrestler wrestled to a no contest when Davey Richards came out and attacked both men. Tyler Black defeated Kenny King. The newest member of Heartbreak Enterprises, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, defeated Norman Smiley. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Jason Blade when both Sal Rinauro and Delirious got involved. The match was then made into a tag match that saw Jimmy Jacobs and Delirious defeat Sal Rinauro and Jason Blade, with Jacobs getting the submission victory on Blade. Austin Aries defeated Jerry Lynn. Scotty 2 Hotty defeated Davey Richards with a worm after Erick Stevens ran out and attacked Richards.

Dykes managed the Infernos. Louie Tillet managed to get the upper hand in his match when he took a chair Mario Galento had brought into the ring, and turned the tables, using it on Galento. Louie Tillet had been the reigning Southern Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Buddy Fuller on May 27, 1966, in Atlanta.

It has been rumored that Borne and Anderson were scheduled to win the National Tag Team Title. One week later, the Road Warriors debuted billed as National Tag Team Champions.
