Great Championship Wrestling results from the Gr8 Sk8 Plex in Phenix City, AL, on June 5: Orion Bishop, with Wicked Nemesis, over Scotty Beach; Bull Buchanan over Murder One, with Nemesis; John Bogie, dressed as the Fishcrow, over the Bruiser; Hot Like Lava (Shaun Banks & Cru Jones) over Tex Monroe & J-Rod; and GCW Heavyweight Champion Johnny Swinger, with Quentin Michaels and Zero Tolerance, over Micah Taylor, with Tracy Taylor, in a “title versus Tracy” match, meaning Swinger owns Tracy. It was reported that approximately 250 were in attendance. GCW returns to Phenix City each Thursday in June, and will be in Villa Rica, GA, on June 28. Ring of Honor will be at the Expo Center in Hartford, CT, tonight. Bell time is 8:00 PM. A one-night tournament for the vacant ROH World Tag Team Title is being advertised, featuring the following opening round matches: Adam Pearce & Chris Hero, with Larry Sweeney and Sara Del Ray, versus Jigsaw & Ruckus; Nigel McGuinness & Go Shiozaki versus Kevin Steen & El Generico; Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black versus Pelle Primeau & Delirious; and Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries versus Roderick Strong & Davey Richards. Bert Prentice ran his first show at the new owner of the United Wrestling Association Tuesday night in Seymour, TN. Attendance at Seymour Hardware & Building Supply was reported as 40 paid with 60 total in the Hardwarium. Results: Tracy Smothers def. UWA Tag Team Champion Alex Shepard (after Chase Stevens came out and threw a chair in the ring to distract Alex). Mike Ogle def. Aaron Cross in a "Fans Bring the Straps" Match (There were 16 people ringside that brutalized Ogle and Cross). UWA World Heavyweight Champion Shawn Shultz def. Matt Boyce to retain the title. UWA Owner Bert Prentice announced that very soon he'll be bringing in Eric Young, Tracy Brooks, and Simon Dean. He also said he had a long phone conversation with Shane Williams and he was interested in coming back, but Shane's buddy Jeff Anderson wouldn't allow it. He promoted the Matt Boyce vs. Jerry Lawler match for this Thursday in Crossville and said this will be Matt's biggest match yet. Adam Armor def. UWA Tag Team Champion Primetime Allen Shepard. Down South Hardcore Wrestling will be having a show at the Multiplex in Darien, GA, on June 28 benefiting the kids of the Sam's Memorial Church of God basketball team, collecting money for uniforms, traveling expenses, etc. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for kids.
