In Amarillo, Texas in 1965 Wahoo McDaniel introduced the Indian Strap Match to professional wrestling, winning a bloody battle against The Viking. (Bob Morris)
In Las Vegas Nevada in 1987 while wrestling for the AWA, Wahoo McDaniel wrestled Mr. Perfect, Kurt Hennig in an Indian Strap Match. With Wahoo on the way to victory, Adrian Adonnis ran to ringside with a butcher knife and slashed the strap. Wahoo McDaniel was declared the winner by disqualification.
May 3rd, 2009 at the Funking Conservatory's !BANG! TV Taping, Wahoo McDaniel Jr continued the tradition of his father's legacy facing Jumbo Elvis Sharp using the same Indian Strap used by Wahoo McDaniel Sr. against Kurt Hennig in Las Vegas and The Viking in Amarillo.
