The UFC's Latest Acquisition - Jared Hamman

Just as this old man was preparing for bed, news broke of Jared Hamman's signing with the UFC.

Interesting, because Hamman, an EliteXC refugee, seemed, to me, to be aligned with Strikeforce (he was supposed to fight on the Robbie Lawler-Jake Shields undercard, but cited an injury and pulled out), but confirmation comes from excellent sources.

It will also be interesting to see how the still-young and heavy-handed Hamman, sporting a record of 10-1 (his one loss, a perhaps-controversial-fifteen-second KO, came in April 2008, to Poai Suganuma and was quickly avenged), fits into the UFC's light-heavyweight picture, which is already quite crowded (especially with the impending return of Tito Ortiz, and the company's future focus on Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson).
