San Tan Valley, AZ, September 20, 2009 -- In his life, Tim Hicks has done a lot of things that most people would consider to be out of the ordinary. Most notable, perhaps, is the twenty-five years he spent as a referee, manager and promoter in the professional wrestling field. These days, he has added two new endeavors to his resume – Evangelical Minister and Author.

Recently, Mr. Hicks authored a book entitled “Walking With My Savior: A Personal Testimony.” In the book, he shares the trials and struggles of starting life as an abused child and dealing with the emotional scars that abuse left behind. Mr. Hicks relates stories of poor self-esteem that led to such great loneliness and despair that it almost cost him his life on several occasions. Mr. Hicks thanks his faith and some good friends for the fact that he is alive today.

In the book, he also takes the reader “behind the curtain” in the professional wrestling business and talks about the temptations he faced there – temptations that have killed many of his friends and peers at a very early age - and how his faith helped him to avoid many of the destructive pitfalls.

According to Mr. Hicks, the purpose of the book is to help others to know that it is possible to overcome emotional scars and to develop a positive self-image, no matter the circumstances. Throughout the book, Mr. Hicks shows that God was with him throughout his life, even when he felt he was all alone.

Although the book is not meant to be a true autobiography, it does contain a lot of autobiographical information including some very touching and heart-wrenching stories of Mr. Hicks’ abusive childhood and a peek into the inner workings of the professional wrestling business.

“Walking With My Savior: A Personal Testimony” is available online from www.trhpublishing.com and from www.amazon.com.
