CSAC Decides Fates Of Baroni, Franca, Sherk

Earlier today, the California State Athletic Commission ruled on the respective cases of Hermes Franca, Phil Baroni and Sean Sherk.

Despite immediately coming clean (well, you know what I mean) in the wake of a post-fight test which had revealed the use of Drostanolone, Franca's one-year suspension (which runs until July 5, 2008) and fine of twenty-five-hundred-dollars was upheld, although he'll still be allowed to corner fighters in the state.

Baroni's camp asked for, and was granted, more time to prepare a defense against a post-fight test, which revealed use of Boldenone Metabolite and Stanozolol Metabolite. Ken Pavia, Baroni's manager, is claiming his charge has already passed an independent test or tests.

Howard L. Jacobs, Sherk's infamous attorney, also asked for and was granted more time, saying their camp has yet to receive documented proof of Sherk having tested positive for Nandrolone Metabolite.

The cases of Baroni and Sherk are now scheduled to be heard in October, and we'll keep you abreast of future details.
