On April 5 at 11:00 AM ET, Peach State Pandemonium will air a special two-hour episode in honor of Gary Hart. Bill Watts, Jack Brisco, Bill Irwin, Skandor Akbar, George Steele, Abdullah the Butcher, Michael Hayes, and Kevin Sullivan are scheduled to appear. In conjunction with K&S Wrestlefest, there will be a DVD giveaway of a Q&A featuring Hart, Irwin, and Akbar, done on March 15, one day before Gary’s passing. More details will be released throughout the week. (Rich Tate)

Regarding the story posted yesterday, Southern Extreme Championship Wrestling promoter Scott East and Ricky Spears of Power Pro Wrestling have had a personal conversation, according to both. We learned of this conversation only after we posted the story. After informing us of his concerns, the story was held until a reasonable amount of time had passed for East to respond. During that time, Spears did not communicate with us that he had already personally addressed the issue with East. In a voice mail received Wednesday night, East said his people would not do that, and that he personally put some of the PPW posters back up himself, as they apparently had been removed by torrential rain that has passed through the area recently. Spears confirmed via email that he had talked with East, noting that he personally apologized to East, but also made it clear that he hopes “whoever did this got their kicks and is through with their childish game.” (Rich Tate)

The pride of Memphis, Tennessee, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (28-6) recently made mixed martial arts history by unifying the PRIDE® and UFC belts and becoming the undisputed light heavyweight champion when he defeated PRIDE 205-pound champion Dan Henderson at UFC 75. Jackson, who is respected for his raw strength, power slams and equally impressive striking ability, marched into the UFC in February of 2007 by taking out Marvin Eastman, and then capturing the light heavyweight belt from Chuck Liddell three months later via first round knockout. EPIC Updates Its Progress Report

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(April 03, 2008)--EPIC Corporation (OTC:EPIO) (the “Company”), a multi-media communications and broadcasting company, announced that two shareholders have returned 15 Million shares of EPIC's common stock to the Company and the shares have been cancelled and returned to authorized but unissued shares. The issued and outstanding shares of the Company is now 11,262,023 shares.

The Company, in exchange for the cancellation of the shares, agreed to issue the shareholders shares in the newly formed EPIC Communications Corp., a majority owned subsidiary of the Company, which is to become the multi-media communications and broadcasting operating company. EPIC will now become an operating company through its two subsidiaries, EPIC Communications Corp. and EPIC Financial Corporation.

During the past month EPIC has:

1. Completed the pilot show for is one-half hour sports show. The pilot show will feature Jeff DeForrest and Light Heavyweight boxing champion Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson who fights in Tampa Bay this April 12th. The fight will be carried on Showtime. EPIC plans to distribute the pilot show to many stations nationwide.

2. EPIC has completed it web site, www.epicfinancialnetwork.com, which includes links to various radio shows and other programing.

3. EPIC commenced developing new sports programing for its European distribution network.

4. EPIC has obtained proper State and Federal licensing, a major step in allowing EPIC to own and control its own content, allowing it to hold Mixed Martial Arts events. The first event is currently being planned.

5. The “Jeff DeForrest Show” has been expanded to weekly mornings on 640 am, Monday through Friday. His guests have included Sun Sentinel writer Ethan J. Skolnick, Lesley Visser, which appears on Fridays, and from time to time Jeff is joined by former Miami Dolphin and 1980 NFL Rookie of the Year, Troy Stratford.

6. EPIC has established an active program to identify potential acquisitions.

WrestleMania® Reading Challenge Crowns National Champs

ORLANDO, Fla.--(April 03, 2008)--Hometown hero David Silva of the Orlando Public Library and Ajoura Gwinn of the Carnegie Library of Homestead, Pa., were crowned 2008 WrestleMania Reading Challenge National Champions. Silva, the national middle school reading champ, and Gwinn, the national high school reading champ, received the coveted trophies along with ringside seats to WrestleMania XXIV at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

This is the second year of the national competition held by WWE and the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) to reach reluctant readers and get more teens reading beyond Teen Read Week™, YALSA’s annual initiative to encourage teens to read for fun. WWE plans to continue to expand the reading challenge competition as part of a new initiative to extend its popularity with youth.

Silva and Gwinn had the most correct responses to questions about the books “Stuck in Neutral” by Terry Trueman and “Ball Don’t Lie” by Matt de la Pena. The authors served as judges while the finalists were quizzed by WWE Superstars CM Punk, The Miz and Matt Striker. Punk, Miz and Striker all appeared in posters distributed nationwide to encourage libraries’ participation in the WrestleMania Reading Challenge.

From the more than 30,000 participants in more than 1,170 libraries across the country who competed, 10 finalists were selected to face off in Orlando to become national champions. Gwinn and four others competed in the 9-12 grade division, Silva and the other four finalists competed in the 7-8 grade division. Each finalist won airfare, hotel, and spending cash for two to Orlando, tickets to WrestleMania XXIV, $2,000 for their public or school library and the opportunity to compete in the WrestleMania Reading Challenge finals.

Ashley 'Rumbles' With Her Idol, WWE Champ, John Cena, Thanks To Kids Wish Network

14-year-old Ashley of Bellevue is a huge wrestling fan. She rarely misses a match on television and is absolutely crazy about the WWE's John Cena. That's why, when Ashley got to pick any wish that she wanted from her friends at Kids Wish Network, she decided that what she wanted most was to meet the wrestling star in person. It was an adventure that this courageous girl will never forget.

April 3, 2008 -- 14-year-old Ashley of Bellevue is a huge wrestling fan. She rarely misses a match on television and is absolutely crazy about the WWE's John Cena. That's why, when Ashley got to pick any wish that she wanted from her friends at Kids Wish Network, she decided that what she wanted most was to meet the wrestling star in person. It was an adventure that this courageous girl will never forget.

Ashley's whirlwind trip to meet John Cena began soon after a close family relative learned about Kids Wish Network while surfing the Internet. The aunt submitted Ashley's name for a possible wish with the charity, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Ashley had been diagnosed in February of 2007 with
cancer.

Ashley has what is known as B-Cell Lymphoma. The B-Cells in the body help to fight bacteria. B-Cell Lymphoma occurs when these cells mutate and become cancerous. Ashley's cancer manifested in the lymph nodes in her neck. Soon after her diagnosis, she began rigorous chemotherapy treatments. Her doctors continue to
monitor her extremely carefully.

When Kids Wish Network wish coordinator, Vanessa, called and told Ashley and her mother, Mary, that Ashley had been approved for a wish, the family was elated. When Vanessa asked Ashley what her number one wish was for, Ashley didn't hesitate: she wanted to meet John Cena in person.

Vanessa immediately got to work. She not only arranged to fly Ashley, her mother, and her sister, Taylor, to Lafayette, LA where there was a WWE Monday Night Raw show scheduled, she also booked hotel accomodations, arranged for spending money and meals and of course, and most importantly, secured a meet and greet between Ashley and John Cena.

Mary said that Ashley was admittedly nervous about meeting the wrestling champ. But she quickly warmed up. "He was wonderful," said Mary of John Cena. 'It was all about Ashley and her wish!"

Ashley was smitten. "It was awesome to see Cena in real life instead of on TV. I like how he wrestles. He's cute, he has nice muscles, and he has nice teeth," Ashley gushed with an ear to ear grin. "Also, I like him so much, because he's multi-talented. Cena's more than just a wrestler - he's a rapper and a great actor."

After spending some time together, chatting and posing for pictures, the wrestler and his young fan parted ways as he headed out to the ring and she to her seat. Mary said Ashley had a blast watching the matches. "It was really an enjoyable experience for my girls."

Mary was incredibly grateful to Vanessa and Kids Wish Network for granting her special daughter's wish. "It was all just wonderful. As a mother, seeing the smile on her face was just indescribable!"

On April 5 at 11:00 AM ET, Peach State Pandemonium will air a special two-hour episode in honor of Gary Hart. Bill Irwin, Skandor Akbar, George Steele, Abdullah the Butcher, Michael Hayes, and Kevin Sullivan are scheduled to appear. In conjunction with K&S Wrestlefest, there will be a DVD giveaway of a Q&A featuring Hart, Irwin, and Akbar, done on March 15, one day before Gary’s passing. Officials from Power Pro Wrestling informed us that posters they had distributed in the area promoting their April 5 show in Temple, GA, have mysteriously disappeared. It was noted that they had been replaced by posters promoting the April 3 event in Carrollton, GA, presented by Southern Extreme Championship Wrestling. We were asked by PPW to let fans know the Temple card is still on, noting the tactics of whomever was at the bottom of this act were “not good ethics.” Though it is unclear exactly who is responsible for the act, we attempted to contact SECW promoter Scott East for a response, but those communications have gone unanswered as of this writing. The AWA World-1 South Board of Directors voted to strip Francisco Ciatso of the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship. Ciatso had refused to defend the title on December 22, 2007, and has done so again for a scheduled event on May 3, 2008. Ciatso wrestles for the Ron Niemi Stable. Niemi has threatened litigation with the American Wrestling Association, and in an effort to reach a compromise both parties have agreed that the winner of the Mike Pain/Bug match will be crowned the new AWA Southern Heavyweight Champion. Pain is currently the GPWA Heavyweight Champion as well, and will defend that belt on the May 3 show in Cordele, GA, against the Bug. The winner will hold both titles. (Thomas Bugg)

YAMMA PIT FIGHTING ANNOUNCES UPDATED FIGHT CARD AND REVEALS DETAILS ON "THE YAMMA"

Los Angeles, April 1, 2008 – Today YAMMA Pit Fighting (YPF), a new mixed martial arts (MMA) organization created by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) founder Bob Meyrowitz, announced details on the YPF surface called "The Yamma" and revealed the revised fight card for the organization’s first live pay-per-view event, which will air live from the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on April 11, 2008. MMA veteran and two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion Mark Kerr will fight in the ’Masters Superfight’ against Oleg Taktarov. In addition, former UFC Heavyweight Champion and recent VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew participant Ricco "Suave" Rodriguez has been added to the eight-man heavyweight tournament. Tickets for the event can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the Trump Taj Mahal Box Office. The live pay-per-view broadcast is available in the United States and Canada through In Demand Networks, TVN Entertainment, Bell ExpressVu, Viewer’s Choice Canada and Dish Network.

The YPF surface, known as "The Yamma," is an evolution of the traditional fighting structure and is designed to keep the fighting more explosive and continuous. In today’s MMA matches, fighters rush their opponents in the quest for a takedown, and the fight often ends up on the ground and pushed up against the fence. The action often stalls there, and must be stopped and moved back into the center of the ring. The Yamma’s design is specifically aimed at stopping this break in the action. The Yamma is a circular pit, shaped almost like a bowl, with a circular flat bottom that rises up around the edge. In this ring, if a fighter is pushed backwards towards the fence, he moves up the lip, gaining both a height and leverage advantage over his opponent. From this position, the fighter on the lip can use gravity and leverage to reverse his opponent, and take the fight back into the center without a break in the action.

"There has been a lot of speculation about the Yamma; some people thought it would have a moving floor, spikes or even live alligators," said Bob Meyrowitz, Rope Partners. "But the Yamma isn’t about flashy gimmicks; it’s about the evolution of a sport and how the traditional ring can be altered to accelerate that evolution. At its core, the purpose of the Yamma is to make MMA fighting more exciting for those who matter most - the fans."

"The Yamma’s design is all about function," said Scott Nagel, lead designer of the Yamma. "It works because of its sloped up edges and because there are no corners. If you are pushed back, you are pushed up – and what goes up is coming back down, probably in a way that causes the opponent a great deal of pain. It’s going to be much more exciting, much more continuous and have much more action."

Mark Kerr, a Toledo, OH native, got his start in wrestling, where he was a high school state champion. At Syracuse University, Kerr was the Division I champion at 190 pounds in 1992 - Randy Couture, wrestling for Oklahoma State University, took second place. Kerr soon got into MMA, and had four impressive wins in the UFC, in which he was a two time heavyweight tournament champion. He then began fighting in Pride Fighting Championships in 1998. In 2003, HBO aired a documentary titled "The Smashing Machine: The Life and Times of Mark Kerr." The program chronicled the no-holds barred aspect of mixed martial arts and Ken Shamrock, Bas Rutten and Mark Coleman also appeared in the film. Kerr won his last fight against Steve Gavin on November 7, 2007. He stands 6 ft 3 in tall and weighs 236 lbs and has a record of 13-06-0.

Ricco "Suave" Rodriguez, a UFC/Pride/King of the Cage veteran, was born in San Jose, California and raised in Staten Island, New York. Rodriguez may be best known for defeating MMA mega-legend Randy Couture in 2002 at UFC 39 to win the UFC heavyweight title. He subsequently lost the title to none other than powerhouse Tim Sylvia. Rodriguez recently appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and made a commitment to sobriety and returning to the MMA scene. Since returning to MMA, he has competed in four fights, winning two by TKO and losing two by decision. Rodriguez stands 6 ft 4 in tall and weighs 250 lbs and has a record of 27-7-0.

For the first time in over a decade, MMA will return to its origins by reviving the hugely popular tournament format, in which fighters will participate in multiple fights on their way to claiming the ultimate victory, the title of YAMMA Heavyweight Champion. The format will test the endurance and skill of each fighter, as victory in each round is rewarded not with extended rest, but with another fight. Tournament fighting has long been a huge draw for dedicated MMA fans due to the non-stop action provided by fight-after-fight formatting.

‘Own3D’ Movie Star Cung Le Defeats MMA Legend Shamrock To Capture Championship Belt

(04/01/2008) AUSTIN, Texas -- Owned Entertainment, Inc. congratulated undefeated MMA fighter Cung Le on his submission victory over MMA legend Frank Shamrock, live on Showtime this past weekend. Le won a hard fought battle by kicking and breaking Frank Shamrock’s arm in the third round, leaving him unable to continue. Cung Le has now gone undefeated for eleven years of competition and has captured the Strikeforce middleweight belt. Canadian Fighters Dominate MMA Event South Of The Border

Five Canadian fighters emerge from MMA event with 4 wins and 1 loss. Over a thousand fans packed the Chapparell Community centre to the Midwest Combat Challenge 4, presented by the North American Allied Fight Series.

Mississauga, ON (April 1, 2008) -- With a roster of five of MMA fighters, Team Kombat Arts marched into foreign territory and emerged with 4 wins and 1 loss. Over a thousand fans packed the Chapparell Community centre to the Midwest Combat Challenge 4, presented by the North American Allied Fight Series. Kearn Nedd (1-1) defeated Brad Stranton at with a second round TKO. Kearn capitalized on his reach advantage by out-boxing his opponent and using effective knee strikes.

Mark Strickland goes to 2 -1 after defeating Tom Lutz via TKO at 1:19 of the second round. Mark overwhelmed his opponent with a ground and pound assault.

Max Gretch also improves to 2 -- 1 after a second round TKO over Garrett Matheron. Max won with devastating leg kicks that rendered his opponent unable to continue.

Frank Marques won due to a no-contest. Team Kombat's only loss came via a unanimous decision loss for Fadi Nader; not a bad outcome considering Fadi took the fight on one week's notice.
